Hey! My name is Cassia Enson, born and raised in a small town in north Idaho. I've been raised in a mixed home, surrounded by both white and Filipino culture. I was my class Distinguished Young Woman of 2026, I am my school's ASB President, and I am a three sport athlete all while still trying to maintain my job. I am very involved in my community, consistently helping out with events, fundraisers, and other up comings whenever the call for help is sent out. I am the eldest of four half siblings and two step siblings, and the eldest grandchild in my entire family.

Daniel R. Torres "Complete Your Dream” Memorial Scholarship
Dreams look different for everyone. For some people, success means fame and recognition, while for others it means financial stability or personal happiness. I believe success can be many things at once, but for me, it is rooted in purpose and impact. My dream is not only to succeed for myself, but to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. I want to help influence and guide younger generations, helping them grow into confident, capable individuals. I want to play a role in shaping the future by supporting those who will one day lead it. I want to inspire, influence, and achieve; not for attention, but because I care deeply about people and their growth.
After I graduate this May, I will be attending Boise State University, which marks a major turning point in my life. I was born and raised in a small town in North Idaho, where community is everything and familiar faces surround you wherever you go. Growing up in such a close-knit environment has shaped who I am. I have been extremely involved in my town, my school, and my community, building strong relationships and learning the importance of support, responsibility, and compassion. Leaving that behind is not easy, but I know that stepping outside of my comfort zone is necessary if I want to grow.
Moving to a bigger city comes with many challenges that I am still learning to prepare for. Adjusting to city culture, busy traffic, new routines, and unfamiliar surroundings will be overwhelming at times. One of the hardest parts will be not being able to see my family whenever I need them. They have been my biggest support system, and learning to live more independently will be a significant emotional adjustment. This move will also be stressful, anxiety-inducing, expensive, and at times frightening. Still, I remind myself that fear often accompanies growth, and that courage is choosing to move forward even when things feel uncertain.
Despite these challenges, I am fully dedicated to taking this step toward my dream. This transition will help me develop into my own person, my own being, with independence, resilience, and confidence. It will teach me responsibility, adaptability, and self-trust. I know there will be moments when I struggle, but I also know those moments will shape me into someone stronger and more capable than I am now.
At Boise State University, I plan to major in Psychology and earn a certificate in Child Development. I am passionate about understanding how the mind works and how experiences shape behavior, emotions, and identity, especially during childhood and adolescence. I want to help younger generations understand themselves, their emotions, and the world around them. Too often, young people feel misunderstood or overlooked, and I want to be someone who listens, supports, and guides them during critical stages of development. Helping children and adolescents grow into their best selves is not just a career goal for me; it is a personal mission.
Looking ahead, I hope to earn my Bachelor’s degree and eventually continue on to receive my Master’s in Psychology. I understand that this path will require years of hard work, dedication, time, and persistence. There will be moments of exhaustion and self-doubt, but I am prepared to push through them. I have always believed that meaningful goals are not easy, and that effort is what gives success its value. Every step I take, no matter how challenging, brings me closer to becoming the person I aspire to be.
In the end, my dream is simple but powerful: to help others grow, to inspire change, and to make a positive impact that lasts beyond myself. I am ready to work for it, believe in it, and grow through every challenge along the way.
