WCEJ Thornton Foundation Music & Art Scholarship
I want the artwork I create through my photography to be a visual into a brighter world and help people feel confident in who they are. Seeing beauty and capturing real smiles and energy through a lens is something I strive to do for any and all of my clients. Nervousness in front of a camera turned into their favorite photo is something that never gets old to me. I want to build self love through my photos and allow clients, creators, and people everywhere to see just what they bring to the world and how bright their smile really is.
Women in Music Scholarship
Music has played a big role in my life, it’s something that I have always pursued and worked for even when I didn’t think I was good enough. Taking advantage of the few opportunities that I had through school in small high school talent shows always gave me a drive to want to learn and seek music to be a major part of my life. The music industry is a tough and competitive field, and it always has been. I unfortunately decided that the arts weren’t going to be my major at the University of Idaho but it is still something I wanted to study and pursue as it is something I’m passionate about. The drive to continue to grow in something I am passionate about is important to me and sticks out about music in my life because the things that give you life and excitement are the things that need to be focused on in a person’s life. I personally have gone through a few depressive states in my life. Having my guitar to continue to learn and gain some skill in something I loved was so important to me because it gave me reason to push forward and see what goals I could reach through my voice and instrumental knowledge. Ever since I was taking every solo I could as a elementary school student, I know how much music means to me and that it makes me smile to sing. Sharing that gift with others has been something hard lately in life, I’ve been on the shy-side of performing because music was something that wasn’t as accepted through my high school years and it was a reason I was annoying to the people around me. This brought me down incredibly, but never stopped me from wanting to flourish in a hobby that I dreamed could be a career.
