"Your Success" Youssef Scholarship
I believe in this one chance at life, living in a world full of possibilities, that each one of us has a purpose we are destined to find and fulfill. I believe my purpose is to carry on my family's legacy of helping others at the worst point of their lives being a nurse. My passions uphold me to continue to explore my service and duty in this world as well as other areas of my life.
To have a chance to pursue higher education means that I will be able to expand my learning and enhance my capabilities in my education and in the future allowing me to inevitably help much more individuals. I believe the benefits of obtaining a higher education outway the cons, and I choose to focus on the benefits: economic, health, civic involvement, personal development, realization with passions, a greater sense of discipline, and most of all, the sense of accomplishment. When you know better you end up doing better!
As a sophomore in high school, I have created my own club named, "The Future Nurses Club" where I plan meetings for my peers to "dip their toes" in the field of nursing. It is up to me to not only organize the events but to come up with the backbone for the entire club. It takes serious imagination, planning, and attention to detail when executing the knowledge I put into my members also known as, future nurses. I create the entire framework of the session including anticipating potential outcomes to decisions my members might make at any point along the way. Furthermore, when COVID ends I wish to take my club members to seminars and hospitals where we have a chance to see, firsthand what it is like in the hands of a nurse. I really enjoy the organization and strategic thinking that comes with my role of leading a club to help and serve people with THEIR passions.
Though my passion doesn't stop there. I participate as an altar server at my local church. There I have the privilege to serve my Parish, assist newcomers in the extracurricular at my Catholic church, and my favorite: attend youth groups. Being an altar server, I have also developed certain qualities in my service: responsibility, attentiveness, and maturity. My contributions to the greater good tie to the necessities of the character of being a nurse.
I may seem small but my passions for helping people are greater than me and I believe that l using Youssef's scholarship will allow me to continue to reach my full potential in both my education and service!
