    Cariloop’s Caregiver Scholarship
Caregiving has been a central part of my life, not just a role I stepped into, but a calling that has shaped my path in profound ways. Over the years, I have cared for multiple loved ones, including my aging grandmother Who passed away from heart disease and several other health issues. My father which died from cancer. My children with special needs Who was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and autism. My caregiving duties have ranged from assisting with daily activities like meal preparation, bathing, and medication management, to advocating for them during medical appointments and creating routines that support their emotional and physical well-being. These responsibilities have required patience, compassion, and resilience qualities that I have developed through hands-on experience and heartfelt commitment. This experience has deeply influenced who I am today. Being able to help patients who are unable to help their self. Caregiving allows me to give patients now be the reason they still wanna live. Being a caregiver is more than just a job for me, it’s a life-changing experience. A life-changing experience that I am so grateful for. A life-changing experience that makes me want to pursue my career and go even further. Caregiving is a life-changing experience so much that even when you’re having a bad day, going to work and taking care of patients relieves you and makes you happy.Caregiving has taught me the value of empathy and the importance of advocating for others, especially those who cannot always speak for themselves. It has shaped my career goals, leading me to pursue a future in healthcare where I can continue to make a difference in people's lives. Every moment spent caring for a loved one has reinforced my desire to become a Registered Nurse, where I can extend that same level of care, support, and education to individuals and families in need. It has also taught me balance and discipline, as I’ve juggled school, work, and caregiving responsibilities. I am stronger, more compassionate, and more driven because of these experiences. Receiving this scholarship would not only ease the financial burden of my education, but it would also be a recognition of the hard work and dedication I’ve poured into both my personal and professional life. With this support, I can focus more on my studies, clinical training, and reaching my goal of becoming a Registered Nurse without the overwhelming stress of financial strain. This scholarship represents more than financial aid; it is a bridge to fulfilling my purpose.
    Kelly O. Memorial Nursing Scholarship
I am 30 years old looking to further my career. I am mother of twins who have cerebral palsy and have autism. I recently had the honor of taking care of My Dad while he died of cancer. Unfortunately, he did not find out until it was stage four and by then it was nothing that they could do. Two months after that, I got the honor to take care of my grandma while she died of different type of health diseases. I have been in the nursing field for 20 years as a certified Cna. My goal is to become a registered nurse. This is something that I’ve been wanting to do for years, but due to my children being special needs, it is hard working around their schedule now that I have them on a set schedule so balancing School career and family life is easier to achieve. Being in the healthcare field, you see different type of situation’s that make you want to do whatever you can to help the health care system become a better place to receive whatever treatment you may need. My goal as a Registered Nurse (RN) is to specialize in geriatric care, providing high-quality care for elderly individuals. I aim to work in settings like long-term care facilities or hospice, where I can focus on improving the quality of life for seniors, offering not only physical care but also emotional and psychological support. I also aspire to advance in the field, possibly pursuing leadership roles that will allow me to mentor and guide other nurses in delivering compassionate care. I plan to specialize in geriatrics and or mental health. Working in the healthcare field so long I have so much compassion for mental health and geriatrics Most of these people are ignored. People like this need real help real compassion. I have prepared myself for this journey in several different ways. One of the ways I have prepared myself is to make sure that my kids have an air tight schedule so that I’m not overwhelmed trying to go to school work and take care of their needs. I have filled out for a couple of different scholarships, praying and hoping to get them so that that will help me financially so that I am not overworked and tired while trying to succeed in nursing school. Furthermore, I always strive to create an inclusive atmosphere by encouraging open communication, embracing differences, and helping others feel valued. In nursing school, l plan to continue advocating for these values by actively promoting cultural competency, ensuring that every patient's identity is acknowledged and respected.
