Bio

I am ready to go back to college. I had a really tough go with it when I was younger. I have anxiety and depression that I did not understand back then. I ended up being dismissed from my college because I was doing so poorly. Since then, I have been diagnosed and I believe my treatment plan is helping. I have figured this whole academic thing out and have earned two Associate's degrees. Now I want to earn my Bachelor's. I have been a Culinary Arts teacher for seven years. I really love teaching high school students. Part of my goal for my career is to keep learning and improving for my students. My other goal is to make a better salary. I have capped out because I do not currently have a 4 year degree. So even if I teach for 30 more years, which I would like to do, my salary won't increase unless I earn more degrees.

Agnes B. Marshall was a bold entrepreneur in the 1800s. She was gifted in the culinary arts, but perhaps her true talent lay in marketing. Her cookbook empire was almost self-sustaining, because she craftily built in ads for her inventions into the content of the books, and these inventions were necessary to make most of the very popular recipes. If I had any authority in the matter, I would say that her marketing strategy was the basis for in-app purchases....Yes, the game is free- but you will find it difficult to play without buying something in the app. She might be the Ada Lovelace of marketing strategies. Often people see marketing and business as a man's game, same as how the tech world is male-dominated. But I know that Agnes, Ada, and necessity are the mothers of invention. Speaking of invention, Marshall is responsible for perhaps the most important invention of all time: the ice cream cone. Before her, ice cream stands were serving ice cream on "licks," which were glass, and customers stood nearby and licked their treat and then returned the glass lick to the vendor, who dropped the glass lick into a bucket to be washed and re-used for other customers. Marshall invented an edible cone to make frozen desserts portable. Back in Marshall's time, food safety and sanitation were not important to the general public. But Marshall was ahead of her time and knew the importance of keeping food safe to serve through sanitary practices. As culinarian myself, I appreciate everything that Agnes Marshall has contributed to the Culinary Arts world.
