Growing up I always had a different love for animals from bugs to mammals to reptiles all the way to the sea. So That made me pick animal science as my major. I feel that a lot of black people don’t see animal science and a must have degree. I can’t count on my hands how many times I told someone my major and they say “you don’t look like no animal science major”. So off of that it shows me that I’m in a position that is not normal to the black community. I know with my animal science degree I am going to be able to help all animals and research them to. It’s something I been wanting to do since I was a little kid. Being black to me means embracing a rich cultural heritage, resilience in the face of adversity, and contributing to the ongoing struggle for equality. It's about celebrating diversity and recognizing the strength that comes from unity within the black community. I chose to attend a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) because I wanted an educational environment where my identity would be celebrated rather than marginalized. At an HBCU, I found a sense of belonging, empowerment, and support that has enriched my academic experience.

Growing up I always had a different love for animals from bugs to mammals to reptiles all the way to the sea. I wasn’t the kid that watch cartoons all the time and if I was it was either dinosaurs train or wild kratts. If it wasn’t one of them I was watching the animal planet and everything that fit in that criteria. And if my parents Changed the channel I would have a fit till they put it back on. I was going outside finding reptiles and bugs and have my own so called science experiments. I was watching animals channel so much I knew just about every animal or rodent I came across. It got so bad when rats and mice got bad in my neighborhood I just to help people by going around and emptying the traps or just going over there to catch them like billy the Exterminator. Choosing to study veterinary medicine was a decision deeply rooted in my passion for animals and the desire to make a meaningful impact on their lives. From a young age, I have always felt a strong connection with animals, finding solace and joy in their presence. This innate bond led me to realize that my purpose lies in advocating for those who cannot speak for themselves. The field of veterinary medicine offers me the opportunity to merge my love for animals with scientific knowledge and practical skills. Through this education, I aim to not only provide medical care but also be an advocate for animal welfare. My goal is to contribute towards creating a world where every animal receives the respect, compassion, and quality healthcare they deserve. With each step of my educational journey, I hope to gain expertise that will enable me to diagnose illnesses accurately, perform surgeries skillfully, and offer preventive care effectively. Beyond technical proficiency, I aspire to cultivate empathy and understanding towards both animals and their human companions. By fostering strong relationships built on trust and compassion, I believe I can make a significant difference in the lives of countless beings. In essence, studying veterinary medicine is not just about acquiring knowledge; it is about embracing a way of life centered around kindness and service. My education serves as a stepping stone towards realizing my vision of building healthier communities where humans and animals coexist harmoniously. It is through this noble profession that I seek to leave behind a legacy of healing hearts both furry and non-furry alike. As I embark on this academic journey filled with challenges and rewards, my ultimate aspiration remains unwavering to be an unwavering voice for the voiceless creatures we share our planet with. In doing so, I hope to inspire others to join me in championing the well-being of all living beings because together we can create a more compassionate world one paw print at a time.

Life is a journey filled with challenges that test our resilience and determination. One significant obstacle I faced was balancing my educational goals with community involvement. As a student, I aspired to make a positive impact beyond the classroom, but finding time for both pursuits proved challenging. I have been through a lot in my all the way from when I was homeless my 12 grade year. Too when I we had to keep moving because we didn’t have the money to pay rent. And when I was at the wrong place wrong time and I ended up almost losing my life from being shot in my back. But I never gave up even when I was ready to give up on life, when I had took a handful of pill and laid down hoping that I don’t wake up next day. But I had god on my side and he let me live and fight for another day. Despite the obstacles, I realized that my passion for community service fueled my academic ambitions. By actively engaging in volunteer work and local initiatives, I gained valuable insights into the needs of my community. This hands-on experience not only broadened my perspective but also inspired me to pursue educational goals that would enable me to drive meaningful change. I always been one too give my last couple dollars so someone else less fortunate than me can eat. I volunteer churches near by and at local high school. And now I go around and give out free haircuts to those who can’t afford it. Through dedication and perseverance, I learned to manage my time effectively, juggling coursework with volunteering commitments. This balance taught me invaluable skills such as prioritization and multitasking, which have been instrumental in shaping my personal growth. Looking ahead, I am confident that by pursuing higher education and acquiring specialized knowledge in areas relevant to community development, I will be better equipped to address pressing issues within society. My educational goals are not just about personal achievement; they are driven by a deep-seated desire to contribute positively towards creating a more inclusive and sustainable future for all members of the community. In conclusion, overcoming the challenge of balancing education with community involvement has reinforced my belief in the transformative power of combining learning with real-world experiences. By leveraging these experiences and skills gained along the way, I am committed to driving positive change within my community and beyond.
