Graduating from high school at the end of this school year, I plan to pursue my bachelor’s degree while considering a masters. Upon graduating from college my career goal is to be hold a government position while serving in the Texas Army National Guard. My main choice for college is Texas A&M-College Station where I will be majoring in Political Science while being a part of the Corps of Cadets and Army ROTC program.
My grandpa was in the Army for 21 years and retired as an E-6 or Staff Sergeant. Although he didn’t talk about his time in the military often I would try to find every opportunity to do so. Sadly, in 2022, before the start of school, he passed away. Although he is gone, he still means a lot to me and truly has most impacted my life. He was the main reason for me joining the JROTC program in High School which I am very proud to be a part of, and also to pursue ROTC in college.
My initial major that I'd be pursuing was Mechanical Engineering, but I didn't see myself having a fruitful life upon my graduation from high school and studying that in college. I sought out my dad for guidance; he suggested Political Science which is perfect for me as it integrates both of the subjects in school which I am the strongest in, Social Studies and English. I've always been interested in politics and this was developed throughout the time of COVID. This time really peaked my interest because there was a lot occuring relating to dellemas in the country and conflicts in the world. It opened my eyes to the areas of not only goverment can be changed, but also that of the realtions that we have other countries. I want to bring change into the world that’ll benefit all people in ways of economic and social areas. I plan to help make not only my community and state a better place running for office in the future, but also the nation by pursuing the presidency in the near future.
In addition to that, my dad has been with me every step of the way when it comes to the application process to A&M, my school of choice. As my journey and transition into college has begun my mom has been more and more involved. When I say that without them, I’d never be where I am now, I truly mean it. Being successful in high school with big goals and big dreams, I owe it all to them. They truly have influenced me to the fullest and for the best.
Upon my graduation from college I will be in the National Gaurd, but I will also have a job simultaneously. My plan is to have a goverment job starting at the city level working as councilman and have a district position in San Antonio ultimatley holding the position of Mayor. I want to my make my way through the ranks of the government to become a Senator and then become Governor of Texas. With all these years of experience I want to in the end run for the Presidential Office and become President of the United States. I have shared this goal with many of my friends and they truly do believe that I can accomlpish it, along with my family members. It takes a great deal of dedication and work to get to that position and I will try my hardest to prove that I can achieve my goals.
