To be a nurse is my calling! When I turned 18 my mother wanted me to go to nursing school but I refused. Years later down the line, I saw myself grafting towards the medical field. I became a home health aide but, it was always something missing. My director of nursing at my agency inspired me as I watched her work. I expressed to her that wanted to go to nursing school and she gave a couple pamphlets. When she retired years later, I still wasn’t where I needed to be; I needed that sense of direction. My agency later received a contract to work in an assisted living facility and I was hands on back in the game. This was the final push I needed to get my in nursing school. I applied at BCCC in 2021. I believe I was born to be a nurse and I wouldn’t be happy anywhere else. This is my passion and no one can stop me.
