I’m Camrynn, I’m about to start my first year of graduate school and currently work as a group lead for an after school program that caters to military families. My biggest passion and greatest love in life is the human brain. As such, I studied both neuroscience and psychology in undergrad and will be getting a Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology, with the goal of treating PTSD in first responders and veterans. As someone who has witnessed mental health struggles firsthand I believe it is imperative that we find additional, better treatment options, and continue the conversation surrounding mental illness. I have two younger brothers who have struggled with PTSD and depression, so I must admit my motivations are completely selfish. If I can prevent even one other little brother from experiencing what mine have my career will be a success. My personal struggle with anxiety has led me to some of my favorite hobbies, which include running (I ran my first half marathon last year!), reading (I have a bookstagram @readwithcamg), and what I refer to as my “grandma hobbies” (baking, crocheting, etc). Some additional fun facts about me (because who doesn’t love a fun fact?): - I LOVE the TV show “Criminal Minds” - I am a huge dog person - The number 7, the colors orange and brown, Thursday and November are all the same thing to me - I am an ordained minister
