I'm a senior at Piscataway Magnet School, and I am a student of the Health Technology Program. Within this program, I've learned the physiology and anatomy of multiple body systems and over 200 medical terminology phrases. I'm CPR certified, and I hope to achieve my CMA certification this year.
As a child, I wasn't entirely sure on what I wanted for my future. Being chosen for my magnet program, however, helped me find an answer. I've noticed that there aren't many healthcare professionals who look like me. I aim to change that. After high school, I plan to pursue a bachelor's degree in Biology at Spelman College and be the first in my family to graduate from college. From there, I will attend dental school and become part of the 3.8% of African Americans who are dentists, helping improve dental care quality for underrepresented communities. While pursuing my education, I will also stay true to my hobbies, which include reading and writing.
