I've been a starving artist. I've been a traveler, a teacher, wife, and mother. I know I need to be a role model for my daughter - I want her to see someone who never stops trying to create the better world that they believe in. Especially growing up as a woman in America today, she needs to see possibilities, strength, dedication, and perseverance. I believe in working hard for social justice and environmental conservation. My chosen degree will allow me to bring my passions together. With a heavy focus on science and research, as well as communication and community action, I will be able to identify real world opportunities in my community. Small actions in our communities every day will ripple out to create a better world and future for all of our children.
