A part of my purpose is to serve my community. I decided that being a girl scout would be the best way. As girl scouts we recite the girl scout promise which is, "On my honor, I will try to serve God and my country, to help people at all times, and to live by the girl scout law." This promise reminds us to help people and to follow our morals to give back. I've been in the organization for about 5 years. At the end of my sophomore year, I earned my silver award and am currently working towards my gold award in my senior year. Over the years I have been a part of a team of girls who have done many projects. To list a few of the service projects that we've done we've made Christmas cards for the elderly, made care packages for the homeless, adopted a horse, assisted with the adoption of pets, beautified our community by planting flowers at the church, helped the younger girl scouts earn their badges, educated ourselves about different countries and cultures for our annual world thinking day so that we can appreciate them, and we recently participated in our local annual Christmas parade. Another part of Girl Scouts that I enjoy is summer camp. At summer camp I get to be a C.A.T. C.A.T. stands for Counselor At Training. With this position, I help the younger girl scouts with their daily activities. At this camp, we swim in the pool, walk the lake, do archery, canoe, water fun day, have team building time, outdoor cooking, outdoor safety, and more. This opportunity helps me learn to be a leader, get good fitness, learn useful tips like different knots, how to make meals outside, and help younger girls have a good week. If they have a good week they can come back the next year and eventually when they get old enough, become a C.A.T themselves. Being a girl scout has provided me with opportunities to grow as a person and develop life skills that will help me in the future. I learned to be selfless and to help others who are in need and that giving back helps me make my mark on the world. I hope to go to college and further my education so that I can give back to the organization that gave to me and continue helping my community.

My dream in life is to learn about animals all over the world. I plan to travel and observe animals so that i can help conserve them. I plan to be well off in my life so that i can donate to animal facilities and give back. My love of animals has fueled me to go to school to learn about them so that I can make a difference in the world of animals.
