Hi there! I'm Caitlyn, and doing my best to thrive through my education life and be a hard working volunteer. While I am not a first generation college student, I am the first in my family to work towards a bachelor's degree in Visual Arts (I want to have a concentration on Sculpture in the future), a possible minor in Psychology, and I also am interested in learning another language. I plan to work either in a community or idependent study of art, and I have also been involved with my community as well. I love to be able to surround myself in diverse cultures and backgrounds to be able to understand the people and world around be better, and I use my knowledge in both my art and education to further improve myself, and my work. My dad had stage 4 cancer for approximately 4 years, and I had taken care of him while my mom had worked to keep us afloat, and this led to not having the best freshmen year overall. Despite that, I got better as the years went on during highschool, and I managed to graduate being in high honors during my senior year. I'm passionate about my art and improving my skills to contribute back to community while exploring different regions of cultures and origins. I went to BOCES and had recieved the Seal of Civic Readiness due to it, and I plan to spread further in college at SUNY at Fredonia. I am more than excited to start my college life and achieve my goals! It's been hard trying to get aid due to COVID and my father's hospitalizations, but I am doint my best to apply myself as much as I can for myself and my family.
