Bio

My goal ever since I was a little girl has been to have people see something I've created and be inspired by it. The idea of people knowing who I am, or knowing something I've made, and allowing it to help them go and grow on their own, and continue to produce more creativity and life in this world, has driven me for a lifetime and will continue to drive me through college and my career.

I have always been a huge fan of Sabrina Carpenter. Not just her music, but her acting on Disney too. I fell in love when I started watching "Girl Meets World" on Disney Channel where she played one of the female leads, Maya. Because she was on the Disney channel and starting her music career, they would often show her music during ad breaks. These would be the music videos to her songs such as "Can't Blame a Girl for Trying" and "Eyes Wide Open". I fell in love with these songs, even writing in my 3rd grade yearbook that "Eyes Wide Open" by Sabrina Carpenter was my favorite song. When I got my ukulele for my 13th birthday, I hadn't forgotten her song "Can't Blame a Girl for Trying" which I promptly learned. I swear my mom regretted getting me that thing with how many times I played that song. Her "Thumbs" Music Video was so incredible to watch. A one-shot filmed on a subway set was such a unique idea that inspired me to try and make my own music videos, which definitely weren't as great as hers! As I grew up, I stopped listening to her for a bit, but I never forgot the impact that she had on my love for music, music production, and songwriting. However, when I rediscovered her during her "emails i can't send" era, I remembered every reason I loved her. Although she was having some slight drama with Olivia Rodrigo, whom I also love, I still knew that they were strong upcoming pop artists that I loved to listen to. Songs like "because i liked a boy" and "Read your Mind" reinspired me all over again. Then, just 2 years later, she released "Short n' Sweet" and I fell in love with probably every song on that album. Every time one of her songs comes on while I'm listening to music, I get so excited because I know that it's going to make me feel good. Her upbeat instrumentals paired with powerful lyrics always leave me shaken in such a good way. Sabrina Carpenter has always been a huge influence on me, especially in my music. Listening to her inspires me to create music to inspire others as she has inspired me.

Advertising is everywhere. It's on TV, your drive to work, and even sandwiched between videos and posts when you're scrolling on social media. I have chosen to go into Marketing/Advertising because I believe there is a better way to create ads that don't feel annoying or repetitive. Haven't you noticed that every ad feels the same? I believe that by pursuing my dream of a marketing career, I can create a lasting impact and create fresh and creative ideas that the marketing world hasn't seen. I chose marketing because I have always been amazed at how a simple video or picture can influence someone to invest or completely disregard a product. Do you remember when you were a kid, watching ads on TV about new toys? They always felt like such a necessity. You HAD to have this brand new art tool or this brand new action figure. Watching these advertisements back, it wasn't hard to see why. They were fun, colorful, loud, everything that grabbed a child's attention. And what about advertisements now? Often the ads on adult channels are for medications, car insurance, furniture, and so much more. These ads, to children, seem boring and useless, while for adults they can be exactly what they're looking for. That's knowing your audience, and that is what inspires me. How many ads do you see per day? 200? 300? According to a paper called "Number of Advertisements Per Day And Their Relevance To Consumers"(1) by Michal TOMČÍK and Pavel ROSENLACHER, in 2013 alone people saw an average of 3,000-5,000 ads per day. Imagine that number now, with social medias such as TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, influencers and celebrities constantly endorsing products, and even the subtle ads you see influenced to you on your favorite movies and TV shows. But do you remember all of them? How similar do all of these ads feel? I plan to create an impact in the marketing field by designing and creating ads with a fresh feeling and look. With my creativity skills, I will create something new that will stick in your mind, without feeling like a burden. I feel as though advertisements are stuck in the past with the way they try to influence you. If you turn on your TV right now, you will get countless amounts of ads that all feel the same. Every car insurance ad shows someone with a broken windshield, and every medicine ad shows someone down in the dumps taking the medicine and jumping for joy. There is no freshness or relevancy and that is what drove me to marketing. The advertising world doesn't have to feel like a plague that rules over capitalism. With fresh, new ideas we can create a positive community that doesn't roll their eyes and scoff every time they hit a commercial break.
