My goal is to go to college and get a degree in sports management. I have loved being involved in sports from an early age and being part of a team. I started playing sports at an early age starting with soccer, basketball and football. For the last 7 years I have been playing lacrosse at both the high school and club levels. During that time I have had the opportunity to be coached by coaches who have played at the collegiate level all the way to the pro level. Sports history, stats and just the overall process of how different sports work has always intrigued me. I would like to either get a job working with a sports team either at the college or professional level. I would also like to go into coaching or even recreation management as an option. Growing up in North Idaho I have had the opportunity to learn how to ski and snowboard and just experience the outdoors with my family. I feel like I would be a great candidate for this scholarship because I want to pursue a career in sports management and have a passion for wanting others to succeed through their involvement with sports and team involvement.

From a young age, I have always known that I wanted to build my life around sports. Some of my most meaningful memories come from attending Seattle Seahawks games with my family and traveling to MLB Spring Training. Watching professional athletes perform at such an elite level left a lasting impression on me. It wasn’t just the excitement of the games—it was the discipline, teamwork, and preparation behind the scenes that truly inspired me. Those experiences sparked my interest in the world of sports beyond just playing, and they ultimately shaped my goal of pursuing a degree in sports management.
My involvement in sports began early, starting with soccer, basketball, and football. Each sport taught me something different about teamwork, resilience, and commitment. However, it was lacrosse that became my true passion. For the past seven years, I have dedicated myself to the sport, playing at both the high school and club levels. Currently, I am a four-year varsity player for Lake City High School, an experience that has helped shape not only my athletic abilities but also my leadership skills and character.
Throughout my time in lacrosse, I have had the privilege of learning from an exceptional group of coaches. Many of them have played at the collegiate and even professional levels, and their knowledge of the game has had a profound impact on me. They have taught me the importance of discipline, accountability, and perseverance—qualities that extend far beyond the field. Their mentorship has also given me insight into the broader world of sports, including coaching, team management, and player development.
In addition to my high school experience, I have competed on club teams across Washington, Oregon, and Montana. These opportunities have allowed me to travel throughout the West Coast and participate in over 20 tournaments. Playing against diverse competition has challenged me to grow as an athlete and adapt to different styles of play. More importantly, it has exposed me to the organizational side of sports—how tournaments are structured, how teams are managed, and what it takes to create successful athletic programs.
Beyond playing, I have always been fascinated by sports history, statistics, and the inner workings of different organizations. I enjoy analyzing how teams operate, how decisions are made, and what contributes to long-term success. This curiosity has strengthened my desire to pursue a career in sports management. I aspire to work with a college or professional sports team, where I can contribute to the success of athletes and organizations alike. Additionally, I am interested in coaching and recreation management as potential career paths, as both allow me to positively impact others through sports.
Growing up in North Idaho has also played an important role in shaping who I am. I have had the opportunity to ski, snowboard, and spend time outdoors with my family. These experiences have reinforced my appreciation for physical activity and the role it plays in building strong, healthy communities. They have also shown me how sports and recreation can bring people together and create lasting connections.
I believe I am a strong candidate for this scholarship because of my passion, dedication, and clear vision for my future. Sports have been a central part of my life, and I am committed to turning that passion into a meaningful career. I want to help others succeed through their involvement in sports, whether as an athlete, coach, or participant. With the support of this scholarship, I will be one step closer to achieving my goal of making a lasting impact in the world of sports. I hope you will consider me for this scholarship and the positive impact it will have my future educational goals.
