Hi, my name is Bryson Akers. I’m a student athlete from Danville, Virginia attending to school at Thee Johnson Smith University in Charlotte, North Carolina studying business administration with concentration and management. And I’m also the starting defensive tackle on the number one defense in division two with double digit starts in my collegiate career. I’m also a graduate from Louisburg college where I attained my associates in business. And I’m also a first generation college graduate in my family. And upon graduation after I receive my bachelor’s in business administration I plan on using my degree to find a great career path and also benefit not only my community but any Community that is struggling to move forward. Theirs many different ways I’m looking to help some people in my reach. One way is I’m gonna to do this is bye not only want to start my own nonprofit but by volunteering and using my resources just to help others in the in need. Also just been a great community leader and representation of hard work pays off. Being from a small town in Virginia just gives you a different type of Perspective going to school in a big flourishing city like Charlotte North Carolina open your eyes all the opportunities out there come I come from people usually don’t get opportunities like I was blessed with so it makes me want to take full advantage of every door open for me for community back home and the community. I’m involved with right now like my peers, my team, trainers, my coaches, my teachers, etc.. Also playing football help me shake my direction because I learned a lot of valuable lessons on the girdiron from all the transferable skills that I have like being extremely discipline very coachable time management skills to the biggest one in my opinion, being very, very emotional and intelligent everyone is different. Everyone come from a different background. Everyone have different expectations on what they feel correct about their business. Where I’m from in Virginia is very low Income so Being from a community that has experienced these challenges directly shapes my direction and motivates me to give back in a meaningful way. I believe that by leveraging business acumen , I can help create a more equitable environment where everyone has the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their geographic location education and employment status religious background or political affiliation.
