Bio

Hi! My name is Brooks, I attend Butler University and Lacey School of Business. I am Majoring in Finance, to become a Financial Advisor. I am wanting to help others invest their hard earned money so that they can make a profit to help enrich their lives. My goal is to eventually open my own Business, along with trying to help as many people as I can. I put my whole heart into everything that I do, whether it be Academically or Sports related. A little about myself, I have been on the Honor Roll all four years of my high school career. I have been on The National Honor Society for the past two years, prior I was on The National Junior Society for two years. I am 11th in my graduating class with a GPA of 3.80 that I have worked hard for. I have received many Academic awards, along with many Sports awards. I have played four years of Varsity Football, four years of Varsity Basketball and four years of Varsity Baseball during my High School career. I played Junior High sports of football, basketball, baseball and track. I played travel baseball from age of nine until age fifteen. The traveling got to be to much with my school sports and practices, that is the only reason that I stopped at age fifteen. Any financial help would be greatly helpful and greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for your consideration. Respectfully, Brooks Burelison

    Bold Hobbies Scholarship
My hobbies have included playing Basketball in leagues or school Basketball since the age of 5 years old up until currently playing my Varsity senior year. I have played Baseball since the age of 4 years old, starting with T-ball to now currently playing my Varsity Baseball Season for my senior year. I playing Football from the age of 10 years old, starting out in Pee Wee League and finished my Varsity Senior year this past fall. I play videos when I have available time and occasionally play golf, just for fun.
    Bold Bucket List Scholarship
Some things that I do well are being involved in any competitive game. Throughout my years I have played lots of sports, and I love to win. Whenever I am in a game or doing anything competitive my first instinct is to try to win. If I lose in one particular thing I will keep working on it until I get better at it or start to win more. This also applies with any school work or work opportunity. I will always practice the things that need work until I am better at it or until it becomes second nature for me. Another talent I have is being able to finish my work on time. If there is a due date for anything then I know I will work my best and get it done. I know that these talents will help me continue to have success in college and when getting a job.

Bold Hope for the Future Scholarship
One thing that gives me hope that the world will be better is that everything is always improving. Anything that is made in the day and age can and will be improved. This can go with almost everything. Medicine will keep getting stronger and this will allow for us to not be sick as much or get over being sick. The possibilities are endless for the type of things that we will be able to cure or make medicine for. For instance we could keep improving and find a cure to cancer which would help people from all over the world. Along with medicine we will keep improving with machines and vehicles in the future. Construction workers could in the future have machines that are less dangerous and do a lot more than what they can as of right now. Vehicles could be made to not hurt the environment in any way and will continue to become safer as we continue through the years. As long as people keep improving then maybe one day the world will be a better place and peaceful. For the farmers we could keep improving farm equipment or make machines that would do it for them. The ideas are countless for being able to improve in lots of aspects of our lives. With the world always improving it is just a matter of time before something is invented or somebody creates the next big thing. The world improves more everyday, but with time people will make great things. It is just a matter of who will do it and when. People all over the world are very smart and have the ideas that will create something that will change the world forever. This is what gives me hope that the world will be better, everyone working together to continue to improve the world one invention at a time.
    Bold Wisdom Scholarship
To treat others with respect. In order to get respect, you have got to give respect.
    Bold Investing Scholarship
To not invest all of your money into one item. And you need to sit back and wait a little while before just pulling your money out.
    Bold Giving Scholarship
I have always played sports of football, basketball and baseball ever since I was very young. I have learned alot of knowledge from each sport. I feel it is important to show and teach youth the importance of sports. Not only doing the physical activity but also the mental part of the sport. Shaping them into good young individuals. I volunteer for football and basketball camps for the youth.
    Bold Simple Pleasures Scholarship
One simple pleasure that I have in life is taking my girlfriend to get an ice cream cone or milkshake at our local Ice cream parlor. Seeing the happiness on her face with smiles is all that it takes to make me happy.
    James Turner Second Chance Scholarship
I am going to be Financial Advisor. I am wanting to own my own business in the future. In 5 years, I am hoping to be working as a Financial Advisor if not for myself, then for some one else. Through these past three years, my most significant achievement has not been met with a physical award or certificate, but an opened mind, increased maturity, and an overall better self-image. Since I was able to walk, I took part in sports. Countless hours were spent playing football, basketball, and baseball. Along the way, when I was 5 years old, I met a person that would soon become my best friend. We grew up together, developing as both people and players. During football season my senior year, we had a falling out that had changed our friendship forever. This caused a division between my friend group, and it split in half. There were lots of disagreements, arguments, and fighting. This loss of a great friendship challenged me as a person in many ways. My character, integrity, and morals were threatened during this time. During our falling out, I was faced with a tough decision. Should I try and fix this bridge that has been broken, or should I do what was best for me and leave our friendship in the past? It was hard to know what the right decision was. In the end, I chose doing what was best for me and completely ended our friendship. I realize now that sometimes the hardest decision is the one that is best. Since this occured, I have become a better version of myself. I now know to surround myself with positivity and encouragement. In the end, I realize now that my most significant achievement hasn’t been a 1st place or winning a championship, it was finding who I truly was as a person. This also showed me that I will be able to get through hard challenges moving forward throughout life and throughout college.

Lo Easton's “Wrong Answers Only” Scholarship
I deserve the scholarship because I am a great caring person that wants to become a Financial Advisor. My academic goals are to continue to get good grades. Because my career goal is to become a Financial Advisor. While driving I saw a large obstacle that was a huge hole in the roadway. I changed lanes to avoid the hole.
    Bold Financial Literacy Scholarship
The one personal finance lesson that I find most important is to learn to save money. If you are able to save money, then you can invest money to make more money. I learned from a very young age to save your money. By saving, you can purchase things that you need and want. And you are able to pay your bills. You also have money back for those unseen circumstances that seem to arise when you least expect it. Having some money saved also helps you to feel comfortable.
    Bold Independence Scholarship
Being independent is a filling of accomplishment. Everyone loves to feel as though they have accomplished things. Accomplishing things is a very successful feeling as well. To be a successful individual, it helps to have the filling of accomplishment.
    Bold Listening Scholarship
I actively listen to others by looking them in the eyes while they are speaking. Showing them that I am interested in what they are saying. Even if it is not my interest or intended towards me, every one likes to be heard. And it is the respectful thing to do. You have to give respect, to receive respect. If another person is speaking, it is apparently important to them if they are talking about it. So actively listening to someone else is the right thing to do. And you just might learn something new by listening.
Sloane Stephens Doc & Glo Scholarship
The ability to get along with others. I enjoy people and talking to them. I enjoy being able to help others. Even while playing sports, I would always talk and meet new people while we were on the court or the fields. I feel this quality will get me far in life. Especially in a world where so many others just want to keep to themselves.
    Bold Deep Thinking Scholarship
Not working together. Everyone needs to work together and not against each other. Being able to Unite with each other for the better of the country.
    Bold Legacy Scholarship
My goal is to have a major in finance and a minor in business in order to become a financial adviser. I would like to become a financial advisor because they have the ability to help people with their money. I am also really fond of stocks. Since I am looking to major in finance, I would most likely study for investments. I would love to be able to help people learn about stocks and bonds as well as help them make the right choices in their financial lives. I have overcome a few challenges since wanting to become a financial advisor. At first I had thoughts about becoming a lawyer. I fell in love with the stock market and being able to help others. This is the perfect place to begin the next phase of my life.
