I have grown up knowing what I wanted to have as a career. I am looking forward to my future and career, and am so excited to get started. I am a senior at Rockwall High School and have a 3.9 GPA. I got accepted into West Texas A&M, and plan on starting in fall 2023. I want to major in Animal Science, focusing on livestock breeding and genetics. I have shown pigs for 4 years and that has greatly influenced my education decisions. I used to want to be a large animal vet, but showing pigs has changed my career plans. My career goal is to start a livestock breeding operation, focusing on show stock. While showing pigs I got to experience artificial insemination and the birthing process, and that just grabbed my attention and made me fall in love with that career path. I am confident that I can achieve these goals. By majoring in Animal Science, I have so many different opportunities to grow in my career. I can take classes focusing more on the genetics and breeding aspects of animals, livestock especially. The location of the college is a huge benefit. It is rural and has lots of livestock, and there are so many great internships that are offered. I plan to take the 4-year course and get my Bachelor's degree. I am so excited to start my education and to see what my future holds.
