Bio

I’m a high school senior with dreams of becoming a pilot. I am currently working toward my Private Pilot License while also taking several Advanced Placement & Dual Enrollment classes. I’ve got a 4.3 GPA and I’m in the top 10% of my class. I will graduate high school with 21 college credit hours. I'm also involved in many leadership clubs. I’m part of the National Honor Society, which gives me a chance to give back through over 20 hours of community service each year. On top of that, I’m my high school’s only four-sport athlete (male or female). I work two jobs to help pay for flight training. Unfortunately, it never seems to be enough to fuel my flight training. Any kind of financial help would mean the world to me as I chase my dream of becoming a pilot.

      This Woman's Worth Scholarship
As a young woman aspiring to break into the world of aviation, earning this scholarship would be a powerful step in my pursuit of a lifelong dream. Aviation runs deep in my family's bloodline. My grandfather, several uncles, and my brother are all either pilots or air traffic controllers. However, I am the first female in my family to pursue this path. Growing up, I saw firsthand how male-dominated the aviation field is, not just through statistics, but at my own family’s dinner table. While the industry has made progress, women still represent only about 6% of the airline pilots as of 2025. Rather than discourage me, this motivates me to be part of the generation that helps change those numbers. Women belong in every cockpit and I hope to inspire others to follow in my footsteps. I’ve built the foundation for this career through a combination of academics, athletics, leadership, and service. With a 4.1 GPA and ranking in the top 10% of my class, I’ve proven that I can excel in a challenging academic environment. I have completed 21 college credit hours through Advanced Placement and Dual Enrollment courses, which has prepared me for the demands of college-level work. Outside of the classroom, I’ve devoted myself to giving back, contributing 25+ hours each year. As a multi-sport athlete in track, cross country, basketball, and soccer, I’ve developed qualities essential in aviation: discipline, teamwork, focus and the ability to perform under pressure. These qualities show up in my flight training where composure, clear communication, and precision are critical. My academic success, athletic experience, and family legacy have prepared me to tackle the physical and mental demands of flight training. I plan to major in Flight Operations (Professional Pilot degree). I have logged over 26 hours of flight time and will earn my private pilot’s license before starting college. Aviation is more than a career for me, it’s about breaking barriers and will be a milestone shift in my family. My dedication to the field of aviation is reflected in the steps I have already taken to advance my education and career. Completing 21 college credits while in high school and working toward my private pilot license shows my commitment to the field and my drive to excel. I plan to not only achieve my dream of becoming a pilot, but also inspire other young girls, including those like me that come from families or communities where aviation seems like a “man’s world” that they can follow their passions, dream big, and succeed. I hope to show the world that women can soar as high as they dare to dream, no matter the obstacles in their way. I aspire to be a role model for the next generation of girls who dare to reach for the skies. Thank you for considering my application and supporting my journey to help shatter the glass cockpit and change the face of aviation.
Jillian Page Commerce and Trades Scholarship
As a young woman with dreams of becoming a pilot, I have always been inspired by the aviation legacy in my family. My grandfather, a decorated F-4 fighter pilot who served in both the Air Force and the Air National Guard, has had the most profound impact on my journey. From him, I inherited not just a love for aviation but the belief that I too could someday take to the skies. His experiences, dedication, and passion for flying have been my guiding light as I pursue my goal of becoming a pilot. I come from a family with a long history of military service. In addition to my grandfather, I have three uncles and an aunt that have served, with two of my uncles still working as air traffic controllers. My brother is currently a cadet in the Air Force ROTC program at his college with hopes of becoming a pilot himself. Aviation has shaped our family’s identity and yet, despite the strong aviation legacy I am the first female in my family to pursue this path. While the aviation industry has made strides toward inclusivity, it remains predominantly male. Even in 2025, women make up just 6% of pilots and that disparity fuels my determination to break through and succeed. The courage I’ve received from my grandfather, along with the challenges he overcame in his career, remind me that every obstacle is surmountable with hard work and self belief. His story continues to motivate me as I work to break through gender barriers in aviation, making my journey not just a personal dream, but a historic shift for my family. My grandfather’s example resonates with me daily. As a fighter pilot, he taught me the importance of perseverance, bravery, and the value of breaking barriers. He is, without question, the strongest person I know and he carries his strength with quiet humility. Despite everything he’s been through, he never seeks attention or praise. His stories have instilled in me a deep sense of gratitude for the life I lead. I am able to pursue my dreams because of him, and countless others like him, who not only fought battles in the past but continue to face silent struggles due to the lasting effects of trauma. My grandfather inspired me to follow a career in aviation and I’m already taking steps towards that goal. I’ve begun the process of obtaining my private pilot license and have logged over 24 flight hours. The day of my first solo flight, my grandfather was there supporting me from the ground, a reminder that his influence is always with me. As I continue my ground school studies, he is there to explain concepts and offer guidance whenever needed. As I move forward in my aviation career, I aim to carry my grandfather’s legacy with me, not only by becoming a successful pilot, but also by inspiring young women to follow their passions and reach for the skies, just as my grandfather inspired me.
      Kyle Rairdan Memorial Aviation Scholarship
As a young woman aspiring to break into the world of aviation, earning a scholarship to support my education is a pivotal stepping stone in my pursuit of a lifelong dream. Aviation runs deep in my family's bloodline. My grandfather, several uncles, and brother are all pilots or air traffic controllers. However, I am the first female in my family to embark on this path. Growing up, I often heard that aviation was a male-dominated field. Although they’ve made great strides, the aviation industry remains predominantly male, presenting challenges for aspiring female pilots like myself. Even in 2025, only 6% of airline pilots are women. Rather than discourage me, this reality fuels my determination. I’m committed to becoming the first female pilot in my family, a milestone that keeps me moving forward, and that belief has been a driving force in my journey. The pursuit of aviation requires a strong academic foundation, and my achievements, including a 4.1 GPA, being enrolled in several AP and dual enrollment classes, and having 24+ hours of community service each year, demonstrate my determination to thrive in a challenging environment. I'm involved in many veteran's events like Carry the Load and Wreaths Across America. I share my passion for basketball and soccer by volunteering to lead youth camps both at school and through my club. These camps allow me the chance to connect with younger athletes who aspire to reach the next level in sports, and I help them develop the skills and mindset needed to succeed. I am a member of Link Crew, a high school organization dedicated to helping freshmen acclimate to their new environment through events like orientation, freshman only events, and spirit days. Also, I was honored to be selected for Captain’s Council, an exclusive group that chooses one athlete from each sport to represent our school at local events and in the community. As a multi-sport athlete (track, xc, basketball, & soccer), I’ve developed discipline, teamwork, and resilience. These qualities translate into the world of aviation, where precision, clear communication, and the ability to remain composed under pressure are extremely important. My academic achievements, athletic background, and family legacy has prepared me to handle the demanding physical and mental aspects of flight training, while multi-tasking and focusing on the task at hand. I will be pursuing a degree in Flight Operations at the University of Dubuque where I’ll begin my lifelong passion of becoming a pilot. I have already started working towards my private pilot’s license and have logged over 23 hours of flight time. Aviation is more than a career for me, it’s a way of life and will be a milestone shift in my family. The path to becoming a pilot is demanding, requiring both academic and physical dedication. The education I’ll receive at my university will teach me crucial skills in time management, resilience, and teamwork. These skills will serve me well as I progress through flight training. In aviation, precision, clear communication, and the ability to stay calm under pressure are essential and these are qualities I aim to develop further. Achieving my degree will allow me to envision a future where I am not just a pilot, but a role model for others. Ultimately, my goal is to show the world that women can fly as high as they can dream, no matter the hurdles in their way. Through determination, I hope to inspire other young women and the younger girls in my own family, to chase their own passions, whatever they may be.
