Raise Me Up to DO GOOD Scholarship
Growing up in a blended family has greatly influenced who I am and what I want to do in the future. When my parent remarried, we had to get used to new family members coming into our lives. Adjusting to these changes wasn’t always easy, but it taught me a lot about understanding and getting along with different people. I learned how to communicate well, be flexible, and show empathy. These skills have helped me in many areas of my life.
Because of these experiences, I’ve decided I want to become a dentist. I am really excited about this career because it gives me the chance to help people improve their health and feel better about themselves. Dentistry is more than just fixing teeth; it’s about making a positive difference in people’s lives. I believe that my background will help me connect with patients from all kinds of backgrounds. I know how important it is to understand people and their needs, and I think this will help me provide the best care for my future patients.
One of my main goals as a dentist is to give back to my community. I want to use my skills to help those who might not have easy access to dental care. I plan to get involved in programs that offer free dental check-ups and educational workshops. Many people in underserved areas don’t have regular access to dental care, and I want to help change that. By providing these services, I hope to make dental care more available and teach people about the importance of taking care of their teeth.
I also want to work with other healthcare professionals to create and support programs that reach more people. This could include organizing mobile dental clinics that travel to different areas or setting up outreach programs to help those in need. I believe that everyone should have access to good dental care, and I want to be part of the solution to make this possible.
In addition to providing direct care, I hope to help raise awareness about dental health. Many people don’t realize how important oral health is for their overall well-being. By sharing information and educating the community, I aim to help people understand how they can keep their teeth healthy and avoid problems in the future.
Overall, my experiences growing up in a blended family have taught me the value of empathy, adaptability, and helping others. These lessons will guide me as I work towards becoming a dentist. I am excited about the opportunity to use my skills to make a positive impact on people’s lives. I look forward to making a difference in my community by providing quality dental care and supporting those who need it most. Through my work, I hope to contribute to a healthier and happier community.
Special Delivery of Dreams Scholarship
I am currently attending Brigham Young University-Idaho, where I am studying pre dental. Throughout my time at university, I have faced a significant challenge in managing my anxiety and stress. I used to get overwhelmed by trying to control every little detail in my life, which only led to increased stress and exhaustion. This constant pressure to manage everything made me feel even more anxious and drained. Over time, I realized that focusing only on what I could control and seeking help for the things beyond my control was a much healthier approach. This shift in perspective has made a big difference in my life, helping me feel more balanced and improving my overall well-being.
Receiving this scholarship would allow me to give back to my community in a meaningful way by promoting philately, which is the hobby of collecting and studying stamps. Philately has been a significant and enjoyable part of my life, and I want to share this passion with others. With the support of the scholarship, I plan to organize events and workshops specifically designed for young people to explore the world of stamp collecting. These events would be aimed at making philately fun and accessible, and would provide an opportunity for others to learn about history, art, and different cultures through stamps.
By organizing these workshops, I hope to show young people how philately can be both educational and enjoyable. I would explain how collecting stamps can offer a fascinating way to learn about the world’s diverse cultures and historical events. Stamps can be like tiny windows into different places and times, and studying them can be a relaxing and creative hobby. Sharing my own positive experiences with stamp collecting, I want to inspire others to give it a try and discover its benefits for themselves.
In addition to promoting philately, I would also focus on encouraging a sense of community and support among young collectors. I believe that creating a welcoming environment where people feel comfortable sharing their interests and learning from each other can enhance the experience. By being open and supportive, I hope to help others find joy and value in stamp collecting, just as I have.
Overall, this scholarship would not only help me further my studies but also enable me to contribute to a hobby that has brought me much personal growth and joy. I am excited about the opportunity to share my love of philately and to make a positive impact on others through this rewarding hobby.
Mental Health Profession Scholarship
Mental health is a big deal everywhere, and I've struggled with a lot of anxiety and stress over small things that probably wouldn’t bother others. I often heard the advice, "Control what you can and let the rest happen." At first, this advice just confused me more. I wasn’t sure what I could or couldn’t control, so I tried to control everything. This approach didn’t work well. The more I tried to manage everything, the more stressed and tired I became. It felt like no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t get things right, and that made me even more anxious.
Eventually, I started to notice that other people seemed to handle their problems differently. They didn’t seem to stress over every little thing, and they knew when to ask for help or let others take over. It dawned on me that it was okay to let go of some control and rely on others when they had the expertise or solutions I didn’t. I began to accept that I couldn’t do everything myself. I focused on what I could control and let others help with the rest. This change didn’t solve all my problems, but it made things feel more manageable and less overwhelming. It was a step towards handling my anxiety better and finding some peace.
Moving forward, I feel equipped to help others because I understand firsthand what it’s like to deal with anxiety and stress. Since I’ve faced similar challenges, I can relate to their struggles and offer support. I can share my own experiences and the things that have helped me, and I’m always ready to listen to what they have to say. Even though I’m not a mental health professional, I know that sometimes just having someone who understands can make a big difference.
I also try to be extra kind and compassionate. I treat others the way I would like to be treated and make an effort to be supportive and understanding. If someone is having a tough time, I’m there to listen without judgment and offer encouragement. Additionally, I’m committed to standing up for people who need help and advocating for them when necessary. By providing empathy, sharing my own experiences, and being a supportive presence, I hope to make a positive impact and create a more caring and supportive environment for those around me. I want others to feel the love and the joy that this world can have.
Neal Hartl Memorial Sales/Marketing Scholarship
I am drawn to sales and marketing because I see it as a powerful platform where I can make a significant difference in people’s lives. It’s not just about selling a product or a service; it’s about creating value, about making a positive impact that goes beyond the transactional. My inspiration stems from the potential to connect individuals and communities with products or services that can truly enhance their quality of life, that can solve a problem they’ve been grappling with, or simply bring them joy.
My passion for this field is fueled by the opportunity it presents to understand people’s needs at a granular level. It’s about getting to the heart of what people want, what they need, and how they can get it. This involves a deep understanding of consumer behavior, market trends, and the socio-economic factors that influence them. It’s a dynamic and ever-evolving landscape that keeps me on my toes, constantly learning, adapting, and innovating.
But at the core of my interest in sales and marketing is a simple, yet powerful drive - the desire to help others. I believe that at its best, sales and marketing is about serving others. It’s about identifying a need and fulfilling it, about creating value where there was none, about making life a little better, a little easier for someone else. Whether it’s by introducing someone to a product that solves a problem they’ve been struggling with, or by creating a marketing campaign that resonates with people, that brings a smile to their face or inspires them to take action - I see numerous opportunities to make a positive impact.
In essence, my interest in sales and marketing is a reflection of my intellectual curiosity, my love for problem-solving, and most importantly, my desire to help others. It’s about using these passions to make a meaningful difference, to create value, to bring about positive change. And while the path may be challenging, I am excited about the journey and the potential it holds. I am ready to embrace the challenges, to learn from the failures, and to celebrate the successes. Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about making a sale, it’s about making a difference. And that’s what truly matters to me.
In the end, it’s about creating a legacy - a legacy of service, of value, of positive change. It’s about knowing that my work in sales and marketing has the potential to touch lives, to make a difference. And it’s this potential, this opportunity to serve others and make a meaningful impact, that truly excites me about this field. I am ready to embark on this journey, to embrace the challenges and celebrate the victories, and to use my passion for helping others as my guiding light. This is my commitment, my mission, and my vision for my future in sales and marketing.
Heroes’ Legacy Scholarship
In the aftermath of war, my grandfather, a military veteran, succumbed to the lingering effects of his service. This loss cast a long shadow over my father’s childhood, striking him at the vulnerable age of 12. He was thrust into a world of grief and uncertainty, watching as his mother grappled with the sudden responsibility of raising her children alone.
She was a woman of strength, but the burden of being both mother and father was immense. She struggled to provide for her children, her resources stretched thin. The simple pleasures that other children enjoyed were beyond our reach. We lived in a world where every penny counted, where luxuries were the stuff of dreams.
This harsh reality was my father’s school, teaching him survival in its rawest form. He learned to make do with scraps, to find joy in the smallest things, and to appreciate the value of hard work. He made a promise to himself, a vow etched in the heart of a child forced to grow up too soon. He would not let his family endure the hardships he had faced.
When I was born, my parents were living on the edge of financial stability. Every paycheck was a lifeline, keeping us afloat. They realized that by focusing on providing my siblings and me with just the basic necessities, they could manage their bills. It was a life of sacrifice, of putting our needs before their own.
Growing up, we didn’t have much. Our lives were simple, our possessions few. But we were rich in the things that mattered - love, family, and the promise of a better future. As my father advanced in his career, he was finally able to fulfill the promise he had made to himself.
Just as my father did, I am committed to ensuring that my future family never has to experience the hardship of living off scraps. I am under no illusion that life will always be smooth sailing. I fully anticipate encountering storms and choppy waters along the way. However, I am steadfast in my resolve to weather these storms and navigate through the challenges that life throws at me.
I understand that there will be times when I will be pushed down, when circumstances will test my resilience. But I am prepared for these moments. I know that each time I fall, I will rise again, stronger and more determined. I am not afraid of failure, I don't see it as a setback, but as a steppingstone to success.
