Hi! My name is Brittany, I am an undergraduate freshman at the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service, doing the online Associates of Applied Science in Mortuary Science Program. I am a very driven and determined individual who is passionate about becoming a funeral director and embalmer. During high school I was involved in FFA, National Honor Roll, Art Club, Academic Team, Student Council, FHA, FCA, Spanish Club, USAA National Award winner, All-American Scholar, National Society of HS Scholars, and Yearbook. I graduated from high school a year early as well. I am currently a Licensed Apprentice Funeral Director and Embalmer and work part-time at a funeral home. I have seven years of funeral home work experience thus far. I also spent four years as a 911/Emergency Dispatcher for a local police department and 10 years as a stay-at-home mom. Some of my hobbies include traveling, spoiling my four dogs, taking both of my children to all their activities, and giving back to my community through volunteering with CASA of Western Oklahoma, a non-profit advocating for children in foster care. I have been active as a CASA Volunteer for eight years. My husband and I were also a licensed foster home through DHS for four years taking in emergency placements and providing respite care for other foster parents.
