Zendaya Superfan Scholarship
Zendaya is by far one of the most if not the most inspiring female personalities today. Not only is she incredibly beautiful, but she's also a multitalented queen. She's a model, actress, singer, dancer, producer, designer, writer and even an amazing comedian. But the best thing about her is how down to earth her personality is, and how she can turn a negative circumstance into a positive one. For example, there's this one video on YouTube called "Celebrities Read Mean Tweets #12" where she reads a hateful tweet. The person tweeted "I bet Zendaya's feet smell like Funyuns," with the sick emoji, which Zendaya gave an marvelous response to. She literally took off her heel, smelled it, and said "Nope, smells like success to me." Her personality, character, and confidence are the greatest things about her. She is just so relatable in almost everything she says and does. Another incredible thing about Zendaya is her charity engagement work, mainly focusing on children in need. For example Toys For Tots, Friends For Change, Birthday Drives, Operation Smile, Donate My Dress, etc. Her work/collaborations have raised millions of dollars for the most vulnerable. It's her talent, boldness, and activism that inspire many young girls. Sadly nowadays a lot of women have experienced body shaming and low self-esteem. Including Zendaya herself, who is an advocate for body postivity. She herself tweeted once "Now everyone go look in the mirror at their beautiful body," with hashtags such as "#thickgirlswinning,#skinnygirlswinning, and #weallwinning." That small tweet spoke volumes and became an encouragement to many young girls, including myself. She told us that matter what we look like or how people sees us as, we're all beautiful human beings. All of us are gorgeous strong warriors. It's the way she approaches things and turns them postive what makes her stand out among the rest. Without her encouragment we wouldn't see as much postivity as we see today.
Your Dream Music Scholarship
Music isn't about just listening to something, but about understanding the true meaning behind it. Many times we listen to something yet we fail to understand what it's really trying to say. For me the song "Scars To Your Beautiful," by Alessia Cara will always have a powerful impact in my life. The song is about how we young women are ashamed to be ourselves and to show the world our true appearance. We tend to compare ourselves to super models not knowing how valuable and special we already are. Scars, burns, scratches, birthmarks aren't things that we should be ashamed of. Even though sometimes it's what makes us feel insecure about ourselves, we should all embrace how we truly are.
We live in a society where beauty and perfection are seen as a crucial thing. Every year, millions of women try to change their appearance in order to be liked. Which is not a wrong thing to do because if they find happiness in it then that's all that matters. However our differences are what makes us unique from others. Why be like the rest when you can embrace yourself and show the world how confident you are about appearance? All women from all races, cultures, and religions are beautiful. My favorite line from the song is "and you don't have to change a thing the world can change it's heart." Which means that even if the world judges you based on what you look like, at the end of the day your yourself. Embrace yourself, be proud of yourself, love yourself. You don't have to change who you are for the world, let the world change for you, be the one that changes it. It only takes one to make a difference and encourage others the same way.
Lifelong Learning Scholarship
Education is one of the most important and rewarding things in life. Sadly, not everyone is allowed to attend an educational institution. As someone who strongly believes that education is the key to success, it saddens me knowing not everyone is given chance to experience it. Going to school every day isn't just about getting your attendance and good grades. It's about what you can learn from it and how you can apply it to your future. Getting a good education gives you the opportunity and ability to become more knowledgeable and wise about certain things.
As a current high school senior, I do have to admit that school has been stressful at times. However, we can't deny how much we've learned over the years. In elementary school, we all learned how to write and socialize. In middle school, we got deeper into the subjects and even had some drama along the way. So far high school has been all about maintaining a good GPA and getting good scores on the SAT and ACT. Which can be stressful because it can build a lot of pressure on you, but it's rewarding. At the end of the day, it benefits and helps you with whatever you aspire to in life. It can help you get into the college of your dreams, and the professional that you wish to become one day. Education is more than just learning, it's what defines who you are and what you want your future to look like.
My dream is to become a clinical veterinarian one day. Animals have always meant the world to me, which is why I'm studying hard and fighting for my dreams. It's not an easy career since you have to take a lot of science courses. For example, biology and chemistry are quite complicated to understand at times. However, even though I'm not the best scholar when it comes to science, I'm not going to give up. I'll see this as a challenge that I must overcome to achieve my goals in life. I plan on attending Broward College and earning an Associate of Arts Degree. Now what this degree does is it guarantees your admission into any public university. The University of Florida, also known as UF, has always been the school of my dreams. It's a beautiful campus that provides many programs for us dreamers. There I would do my bachelor's and then transfer to another school that belongs to UF. This school is a veterinary college which is four years, and with the help of god, I would be earning my D.M.V there. Which in other words stands for "Doctor of Veterinary Medicine." Sometimes we don't realize how important education is, and how many doors it can open.
Even after I become a veterinarian my path of learning isn't over just yet. There's more to learning than just sitting in a classroom while reading a book. We can learn from others, from our actions, and our environments. Yes, you get a degree from education, but education doesn't necessarily just apply to school. Learning new things can come from anything and anywhere.
