My name is Briann Briggs, and I am a graduate student at Jackson State University pursuing a degree in Computer Science. I am also a member of the Jackson State Women’s Golf Team, where I continue to develop the discipline, leadership, resilience, and time-management skills that have shaped both my academic and athletic journey. My experiences as a student-athlete have strengthened my commitment to excellence in the classroom, on the golf course, and within my community. I am passionate about using my background in computer science to build a meaningful career while continuing to grow as a leader and mentor. Outside of academics and collegiate athletics, I have remained committed to giving back to the golf community. I have mentored young golfers through One Swing Golf Academy, a minority-focused golf organization based in Sacramento, California. The organization played an important role in my own development and encouraged me to pursue collegiate golf at an HBCU, making the opportunity to support younger golfers especially meaningful to me. As I continue my graduate education at Jackson State, I hope to combine my interests in technology, athletics, leadership, and service to create opportunities for others while preparing myself to make a lasting impact in my profession and community.
