I believe that everything I have experienced growing up and during my high school years has prepared me for my future college and career endeavors. For example, I have overcome many obstacles throughout my life, working twice as hard to achieve success in my academics and extracurricular activities. For example, I managed my many extracurricular activities such as Senate Leadership, competing in Varsity Cross Country/Track & Field for 4 years, and have achieved honor roll every semester while also working to gain and save money for college. As a hard working Hispanic student I will use all these experiences to help me achieve my goals in college and beyond.
I am determined to work hard to push myself in college as I am currently pushing myself now in high school and with my team to get better every day. I believe a college education would help me complete my studies to be successful in my career as a psychologist. I am excited about the opportunity to learn about psychology because in the future I will get to help people with their mental health and struggles in their lives. I love helping people and a college education in clinical psychology will give me the tools to achieve my dream.

Overcoming my own obstacles gave me a chance to manage my activities and events, to improve myself and seek opportunities in life to be successful in school and as an athlete. I believe a college education would help me complete my studies to be successful in my career as a psychologist. I am excited about the opportunity to learn about psychology because in the future I will get to help people with their mental health and struggles in their lives. Struggles: insecurities, trauma, depression, anxiety, and stresses of life are important to me because I have experienced some of those. Through my experiences it allows me to be more open and open with myself. Also having to reflect on my emotions and insecurities, this college education would give me the skills to allow me to grow as a person. I would like to help communities as I have helped in the past through my church where the need for the basics such as food and shoes were appreciated and someday help with mental health also as basic need that everyone should have access to.
The most significant opportunities and challenges I have faced throughout my high school career that has shaped who I am today was managing and balancing my schedule with sports, leadership, and school priorities. I had overcome these competing activities by getting organized and keeping a schedule of the priorities of what I need to accomplish first. I have overcome many obstacles throughout my life, working twice as hard to achieve success in my academics and extracurricular activities. For example, I managed my many extracurricular activities such as Senate Leadership, competing in Varsity Cross Country/Track & Field, and have achieved honor roll every semester while working at “Grocery Outlet” to gain and save money for college. I have experienced different kinds of struggles and also experienced the importance of a balanced life. I moved from Colorado to California between my Freshman and Sophomore years, which added a unique challenge for me to meet new people and get involved in my new school. The transition was a challenge to adjust to school, lack of friendships and very competitive in sports, but I worked hard, never gave up and achieve a GPA above 3.8 and earned varsity in my sport. I have had to balance these different activities by having a plan and a schedule that I follow to be successful while it all was a long process emotionally and mentally hard. My grades for my classes improved and I have learned to manage my time with a busy schedule, allowing me to succeed in my schooling and academics. I believe that a college education would allow me to achieve my goals and be successful in the future, by building my knowledge through my classes to have a new perspective on the world and my purpose. My goal is to work hard and push myself to be a better person. I feel that I will be a positive contributor any university willing to help me achieve my goals to help others as a future psychologist.

My humor and uplifting personality, and the knowledge that the university will give me, will help me build strong bond with everyone I meet and providing them with needed time by going to underserved communities. As a Hispanic male and minority I understand certain struggles that others do not experience. I would like to help communities as I have helped in the past through my church where the need for the basics such as food and shoes were appreciated and someday also help with mental health also as basic need that everyone should have access to.
