My life goal is to become a Dental Hygienist. I’m currently a Dental Assistant and love the field I work in! As of right now I’m working on my associate’s degree for the Dental Hygiene program at Rose. I would eventually like to work on a bachelor’s degree! Outside of school and work I like to weightlift, paint, and draw.

I currently have 2 miniature dachshunds, Maggie Rose and Lucy. Maggie Rose, she will always have a special place in my heart. She’s my emotional support dog. Maggie is one of the smartest, smallest, and most stubborn dogs I’ve owned. Maggie knows many tricks such as roll over, stay, and boop. I tell her boop and she jumps to boop her nose to mine. She’s stubborn at times because she will not want to use the restroom out in the rain. She will sniff the wet grass and it’s an automatic no for her. Despite her stubbornness, she's the best dog I could ever ask for.
I got Maggie during a very difficult time in my life. I had just dropped out of college a year before because I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to do for a career. From there I felt like a failure to my parents and that’s when my mental health took a toll. I got diagnosed with General Anxiety Disorder, Depression, and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. I can barely remember anything great from that year. My life was just passing by and looking back at it, I was in such a dark place. I felt like I was never going to get better. My Dr had recommended a few things because my mental health was getting worse. One of the things he recommended was an emotional support dog. The day he told me that, I remember, it’s like my world felt a little lighter.
Ever since I got Maggie, she has been nothing but like family to me. Getting to watch her grow and teach her many tricks are the sweetest things. I have never bonded with another dog like I have with her. I share many great memories with her. The best one was the day I got her. She was the tiniest and softest puppy I ever got to hold. She looked like a tiny Golden Retriever puppy. I remember her being so excited to see me and just licking me all over my face. That small puppy now plays a very important role in my life.
Maggie kept me busy when my mind wanted to wander and get back into that dark negative place again. She kept me active as well because I would take her on walks at the park. Struggling with all of the mental health issues I had was unbelievable but Maggie was there by my side through it all. She’s the best and I couldn’t imagine a world without her. Who knew an 11 pound weenie dog would make my world a whole lot better?
