I am a PhD candidate in Counselor Education and Supervision at Old Dominion University, a Licensed Professional Counselor Resident (LPC R), and a 988 Mobile Crisis Responder. I am dedicated to reducing stigma, expanding access to care, and equipping others with the tools to support emotional well being.
My goal is to provide strong leadership within the counseling profession by becoming a licensed professional counselor, offering both clinical and administrative supervision, teaching at the collegiate level, and conducting research that informs and elevates mental health practice.
What distinguishes me is my resilience in the face of major life challenges. I draw on my personal journey as a foundation for advocacy and connection, using lived experience to inspire, educate, and impact the lives of others. Through crisis work, scholarship, and service, I remain committed to creating meaningful change across the mental health field.

Living the Life of My Dreams
The life of my dreams is rooted in healing, advocacy, and leadership. As a Black woman navigating the complexities of intergenerational trauma, domestic violence, and the systemic barriers within higher education, I have come to understand that my dreams are not merely about personal success. They are about creating impact and building a legacy that empowers others to thrive.
In the life I envision, I have completed my PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, educator, researcher, and clinical supervisor. I own a wellness center that serves Black and Brown communities with culturally responsive mental health services, trauma-informed care, and professional development opportunities. My center is not just a place for therapy. It is a safe haven for growth, where people from all walks of life come to rediscover hope, access healing, and rewrite their narratives.
As a survivor of domestic violence and someone deeply familiar with the silent burdens of intergenerational trauma, I dream of breaking cycles both in my personal life and in the systems I work within. I envision myself conducting research on racial battle fatigue and cultural burnout among students and professionals of color, developing interventions that promote resilience, equity, and retention in academic and professional settings. My voice is present in policy rooms, on panels, and in classrooms, challenging institutions to dismantle harmful norms and build spaces where Black women are not only seen but fully supported.
In the life of my dreams, I continue to mentor the next generation of counselors and educators, especially those who feel invisible in spaces not built for them. I imagine walking into lecture halls and seeing students who look like me, eager to learn, empowered to lead, and unafraid to take up space. I share not only knowledge but lived experience, reminding them that strength is not found in perfection but in perseverance.
Despite the challenges I have faced, working full-time while earning my degree, navigating systemic racism, and carrying the emotional weight of past trauma, I remain committed to this path because I know my purpose is greater than me. I dream of financial stability, yes, but more importantly, I dream of peace, joy, and freedom. I want to create a life where I no longer have to choose between self-care and service, between rest and resistance.
The life of my dreams is not without its hardships, but it is filled with purpose. It is a life where I wake up each day knowing I am living in alignment with who I was created to be: a healer, an educator, an advocate, and a visionary.
