Finding Inspiration: My Journey of Community Involvement and Influencing Change
Community involvement serves as a powerful catalyst for personal growth and social progress. In my life, a multitude of factors has inspired me to actively participate in my community. From witnessing the challenges faced by marginalized individuals to recognizing the power of collective action, my passion for change has driven me to take action. This essay explores the diverse sources of inspiration that have guided my involvement in the community and the ways in which I have strived to influence positive change.
Empathy and Social Justice
Developing empathy and a strong sense of social justice has been a fundamental inspiration for my community involvement. Witnessing the struggles and injustices faced by marginalized communities ignited a deep desire within me to lend a helping hand. Through volunteering at local shelters and community centers, I have actively sought to understand the needs and aspirations of those less fortunate. This firsthand experience has fostered a sense of empathy and a commitment to working toward a more equitable society.
Role Models and Community Leaders
Inspiration can often be found in the remarkable individuals who have dedicated their lives to creating positive change in their communities. I have been fortunate to encounter several role models and community leaders who have shaped my perspective and motivated me to contribute. Their passion, resilience, and unwavering commitment to their cause have instilled in me a deep sense of admiration and an understanding of the transformative power of individual action. Witnessing their impact has fueled my determination to follow in their footsteps and work towards influencing change.
Youth Empowerment and Education
Recognizing the potential of young people to drive meaningful change, I have actively engaged in initiatives focused on youth empowerment and education. As a mentor and tutor, I have had the privilege of inspiring and supporting young individuals, helping them realize their abilities and pursue their dreams. By investing in the education and well-being of the younger generation, I believe we can create a positive ripple effect throughout the community. This commitment to empowering young minds has allowed me to witness firsthand the transformative power of education and the incredible impact it can have on individuals and society as a whole.
Inspiration can emerge from a multitude of sources, and for me, it has been a combination of empathy, role models, and a belief in the potential of youth that has fueled my involvement in the community. By actively engaging in various initiatives and dedicating my time and skills, I have sought to influence change within my community. While the path to meaningful impact can be challenging, the rewards of witnessing positive transformations and the enduring inspiration it provides make every effort worthwhile.
Richard Neumann Scholarship
A problem I had is making an essay for this scholarship, so I asked an AI to write me a superman comic

Everyone wants to grow and flourish, and in our journeys, even the smallest experiences can have the biggest impact.
Since childhood, I have loved to garden. In the summers I would go to my grandma’s house, and she would teach me all about gardening. We tended to it every day. It was tedious, but we knew it would be worth it. When I turned ten, I finally got my own garden and I loved it. One day I added some snapdragons and lilies. Remembering my grandma’s advice, I removed their flowers expecting it to help them grow. My snapdragons were thriving, but my lilies struggled. It took a while, and trial and error, but eventually it hit me that taking care of my snapdragons is not the same as taking care of my lilies. This process got me thinking about how despite my brother and I being extremely close, if I tried to learn something visually the way he does, I would be lost just like my lilies without their flowers. This sparked the desire to find different ways to help people flourish; the way I was able to help my plants. In my journey, gardening was not the only impactful experience.
After 2020, school was tough, especially, the transition from online to in-person school. I was apprehensive to find a mental health provider, but it was ultimately worth it. My therapist was very helpful and compassionate. She taught me that there was nothing to be ashamed about in being vulnerable in front of others. I learned how to reframe my anxieties into more realistic and healthy thoughts. I also learned that just like the plants in my garden when I was younger, I was just in an ill-suited environment. However, unlike my plants, I overcame it and still flourished. I may not stand as tall as an oak, but the challenges I have confronted have made me persevering and flexible like a willow. I have learned to withstand the worst of storms while becoming more compassionate towards mental health issues. I realized I want to help people flourish the way I helped the plants in my garden, and support them in reaching their full potential, like my therapist did with me.
From childhood to present day, these experiences have had a profound impact in my journey to discover my purpose. I am driven to gain a deeper understanding of how people work, so like my plants I can help others find the right soil. I aspire to use my college experience to develop connections with people, build empathy, and gain clinical skills in order to become a mental health provider.

Our Destiny Our Future Scholarship
As a student with a strong desire to contribute positively to the world, I am determined to use my education and skills to make a lasting impact. Growing up, I have seen the many challenges our society faces, including poverty, inequality, environmental degradation, and systemic injustices. These issues have inspired me to pursue a career that will allow me to help others and work towards a better future for everyone.
One of the ways I intend to make a positive impact on the world is by promoting sustainability and environmental protection. As a student of environmental science, I have gained insight into how human activity is affecting the planet, from deforestation and pollution to climate change and habitat loss. By educating others about these issues and advocating for sustainable practices, I believe we can work towards a more sustainable future that is equitable for all.
In addition to promoting sustainability, I also plan to make a positive impact on the world by volunteering my time and skills to help those in need. Whether it is serving at a local soup kitchen or partnering with a non-profit organization to provide education and resources to underserved communities, I believe that even the smallest of actions can make a significant difference in the lives of others.
Furthermore, I hope to lead by example and inspire others to make a positive impact on the world. I believe that by prioritizing empathy, kindness, and compassion, we can create a ripple effect that spreads throughout our communities and beyond. Whether through small acts of kindness or large-scale projects, I am convinced that we all have the power to make a difference in the world.
Ultimately, my goal is to use my education and skills to help create a more just, equitable, and sustainable world. I am optimistic that through collective effort and mutual support, we can create a brighter future for all. Through my actions and the actions of others, I am confident that we can build a world that is more empathetic, compassionate, and resilient than ever before.
In conclusion, I am committed to using my education and skills to create a positive impact on the world. By promoting sustainability, volunteering my time and skills to help those in need, and inspiring others to do the same, I believe that we can create a better future for all. I am eager to work towards this vision, and I hope to inspire others to join me in this endeavor.
