Hello, I'm Breanna. I was born in Jamaica, before migrating to the U.S and I am a first-generation student! I was Central High's Class of '22 Senior Class President. I recently graduated with a B.A. in psychology and criminology. I decided to pursue an education in psychology to work toward de-stigmatizing mental illness and therapy. I wish to help families of color overcome the challenges posed by generational trauma. I have set out to become a psychiatrist and specialize in family therapy. Not only am I passionate about mental health, but I also am dedicated to social activism and desire to make strides toward racial and gender equality. I am dedicated to bringing change into spaces that lack inclusivity and creating safe spaces for underrepresented people. When I am not spending time with friends and family, I let my creativity run wild! I love fashion, music, and creating content on social media. I have a YouTube channel and active Instagram page where I post fashion, lifestyle content. I have goals to travel the world, experience new things, and meet amazing people! I enjoy dedicating myself to my friends, family, and community. They are my biggest motivations. My favorite quote is: “Just when the caterpillar thought the world was ending, he turned into a butterfly.” As a person with anxiety, this anonymous proverb inspires me to embrace my feelings instead of shutting myself down.
