For as long as I can remember, I have been drawn to how things work. My parents have many stories of me disassembling random items in our home just to see the way they worked and putting them back together. My dad can fix just about anything you can think of. He began to include me in any work that needed to be done around the house and to our family vehicles. Oil changes, flat tires, belt replacements- I was handing him tools, holding a flashlight, and soaking in anything he had to teach me about how things worked. While others saw a car as just a way to get from one place to another, I saw a system of, engineering, and problem-solving. That curiosity has grown into a clear career path through my dual enrollment in the automotive program at my local college, where I am already gaining hands-on experience while completing high school. Maintaining a 3.7 GPA while participating in football, baseball, and a technical program has required discipline, time management, and commitment. I have chosen to pursue a career in automotive technology because it offers something many careers do not. The ability to solve real problems that directly impact people’s daily lives. Reliable transportation is essential for work, school, and family responsibilities. As an automotive technician, I want to play a role in keeping individuals and communities moving safely and efficiently. In a time when skilled trades are in high demand, I am proud to pursue a path that is both practical and meaningful. My goal is to continue my education and advance in the automotive field, gaining certifications and hands-on experience that will prepare me for a long-term career. I am particularly interested in continuing to develop my diagnostic skills and staying current with evolving technology. The automotive industry is constantly changing, and I am motivated to grow with it. Receiving this scholarship would help ease the financial burden of continuing my education and allow me to focus on building my skills and experience. More importantly, it would be an investment in my future as a skilled professional who is committed to hard work, continuous learning, and contributing to my community. I am proud of the path I have chosen. Through dedication, education, and hands-on training, I am building a future where I can turn my passion into a career and make a lasting impact through the skilled trades.

For as long as I can remember my Dad has shown me what it means to have “work ethic”. Growing up, I watched my dad demonstrate a remarkable work ethic that has shaped how I approach every task in my life. He always emphasized the importance of honesty, diligence, and leaving things better than you found them. These are principles that I carry with me today.
I am the oldest of four siblings and this has taught me lessons about responsibility, leadership, and perseverance from a very young age. From helping around the house to taking on challenges at school, and sports. I’ve learned that hard work isn’t just about completing tasks. It’s about the mindset you bring to them. My dad’s example showed me that dedication and consistency matter more than shortcuts or temporary fixes. Whether it was helping him repair something at home, watching him manage his job responsibilities, or supporting our family, he approached every task with integrity and attention to detail. This taught me that the quality of your work reflects your character.
Being a captain for both my high school football and baseballs teams, I’ve learned that work ethic isn’t just something you just apply to your own life, it influences those around you. By approaching my responsibilities with honesty and care, I can inspire them to take pride in their own efforts and understand the value of persistence.
Ultimately, my dad’s lessons have shaped my understanding of success. Hard work is not just about personal achievement; it’s about making a positive impact, maintaining integrity, and striving to improve every situation you encounter. I aspire to carry these principles into my future goals, knowing that the habits and mindset I cultivate now will guide me through challenges, opportunities, and the responsibilities that come with being a role model for others.
