I was always told that I could wrap my brain around a 3D object better than most. I didn't know what to do with that at the time, so I joined the Army instead. I spent many years bouncing around different states and countries serving my Country and learning who I am, or was to become. The countries I have been to in service of the United States include Bahrain, Korea, Kuwait, and Japan. I attended Basic Training in 2006 at Ft Sill, Oklahoma and Advanced Individual Training AIT at Ft Bliss, Texas. My duty stations include: Ft Bliss, Texas Ft Bragg, North Carolina Ft Lee, Virginia Ft Polk, Louisiana Due to the changes that were happening in the Army and multiple injuries I sustained in service I chose to separate from the Army in 2013 with an Honorable Discharge to pursue my Associates Degree in Drafting & Design My first thought was to attend college as soon as I got out, I felt a lot older than most of the students that I went to school with; it felt abnormal. After two semesters of college I found out that my degree path in Graphic Design wasn't going to pan out due to the lack of certifications that the college would give me when I graduated I would be unable to obtain a job with only the degree. I bounced around a few different jobs that offered me some semblance to either what I did in the Army or to the atmosphere of brotherhood that I missed so badly. Eventually I ended up in a job that needed me to learn a skillset with a computer program called AutoCad. This specific program is used for a number of things like design, blueprints, maps, etc. The fact that I had that ability to wrap my brain around those 3D objects helped me tremendously. Today I am a part time intern at a local design company using many of the skillsets I developed in the Army along with that 3D vision I developed. I am a full time college student at Central Louisiana Technical Community College with a 4.0 grade point average in which I intend on graduating in 2025 with my Associates of Applied Sciences in Computer Science (Drafting & Design). My plan is to further my education and complete my Bachelors Degree in Project Management after a year or two in the field.
