There is a saying my father always said "A person can't have faith if they don't believe in the impossible".Growing up I was always in church and grew up in a Christian household where faith was what held everything together.I personally struggled with that because I just always thought everything happened with pure luck.I mean yes I believed in God and how amazing and lovable he was but everyone would share testimonies/stories on how they lived in a big struggle but believed God would take them out of that problem, but I never had that experience before. As I got older it was even harder to grow my faith due to lots of problems that were just minor for example,my mom having over stacked bills,no food, not able to afford good clothing etc.Thank God he helped us out through all that, but that wasn't a big problem that tested my faith until one day I had that experience.
My father always showed me the best ways to live life and always mentored me on how to live it with Christ.I couldn't have imagined a bad thing happening to him even though he was an immigrant, but always told me he wasn't scared of anything because he had his faith in God.All of that came to test when one day my family was all at home waiting for my father to get home from work until my mom got a call from my father that said he got pulled over by the cops and was being held in jail.I remember my mom crying in panic while my siblings were scared to death seeing my mom bawl her eyes out.As the oldest I had to comfort them and hide my emotions at that moment and make sure they felt calm. After,we all went to the station and ask how long would he be there and the officer said they don't know since my Dad didn't have papers. They told us to leave and the best thing to do was pay a lawyer to get my Dad out.At this moment I didn't know what to do because I thought everything was just a bad dream. My mom on the way home just told us to start praying and have faith that God would make a miracle. At that moment that was when I felt that moment of desperation and repentance because I knew I couldn't do anything,so I started to question my faith and ask myself if I ever was going to see my Dad again. My pastor heard the news and told the congregation to all pray for my father, and when I saw everyone believing that my father would be free and seeing everyone cry out to God for my father I started to cry and feel their faith they had.
In that big moment I did nothing but have faith in God that He would free my dad from jail. After 2 weeks we get a call from the poilice station that my father is set to be free thanks to an unexpected lawyer that came to help him out.We all thanked God for that miracle that He made to free my father, and I was able to see my father once again.Talking about this story always reminds me that God will in any given moment test our faith over an obstacle or problem, but at the end of the day we just need to believe in the impossible.
