I read books multiple times a week.
I am a second-degree nursing student returning to school with a clear purpose: to become a nurse who challenges healthcare disparities and advocates for all communities. My healthcare experience has given me firsthand insight into how social determinants of health shape patient outcomes, and it has strengthened my commitment to delivering equitable, compassionate care. As a Black woman, I am driven to be part of the change I want to see in healthcare. I want to provided culturally competent care while pushing for systems that serve all communities fairly. I am committed to excellence, lifelong learning, and using nursing not just as a career, but as a platform for impact. Receiving ascholarship would allow me to focus on my education and reduce the financial barriers that come with returning to school for a second degree. It would directly support my ability to succeed in a rigorous accelerated nursing program and continue my path toward becoming a nurse who creates impact where it is needed most.
