My name is Brady Buchanan. I was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas, where I attended Gregory-Portland High School before moving to Calallen in 2018. From as early as I can remember, all the way to present day, my favorite pastime has always been football. Through this I have made many lifelong companions and memories. Furthermore, I also have an interest in technology, kinesiology, true crime, and law. I plan to go to the University of Texas at Austin where I will major in business before attending the University of Texas at Austin School of Law. Though I am not entirely sure what area of law I want to work in, I am leaning towards criminal justice. Through practice in criminal justice I hope that I can bring justice to those who have been wronged by our system. However, this is not the only way I want to make a positive impact on the world. I hope that, through my career choice, I can make enough money to comfortably support animal rights activism. Growing up in an area with a lot of mistreated stray animals, It has always made me wince to see some of the things these innocent animals go through. As a matter of fact, my family has always been one that cannot resist the urge to take in a stray off the street, especially if it's cold out. In my 18 years of living, I have known at least 30 different little bundles of joy. I plan on becoming a frequent donator to many, many different non-profit humane shelters. However, I do not want to stop at donating, as the ultimate goal would be to, one day, open a non-profit of my own. In doing this, I can take making a difference into my own hands and hopefully touch the lives of many animals in need. I would open a non-kill animal sanctuary of sorts. Here, I would take in as many different animals as possible, whether that means rehabilitation and release or sheltering them for as long as they need. While animals are my main focus, I do not want to stop there. I have always had a soft spot for kids who are burdened with disease and cannot afford to live a normal childhood. For this reason I would also like to monetarily support organizations such as St. Jude's Children Research Hospital and volunteer myself to spend time with these kids. Without a doubt, I hope to make a positive impact on the world in as many ways as possible. Whether it be through helping defendants in court, animals in need, or sick children.
