I am a third-year veterinary student at Washington State University (Class of 2027), dedicated to advancing animal health and strongly interested in pursuing specialty medicine after graduation. Through my education and clinical experiences in critical care, large animal practice, and general practice, I have developed strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to high-standard, evidence-based care. Beyond schoolwork, I am involved in student leadership and community outreach, including raising guide dog puppies, supporting animal welfare through shelter partnerships, and coordinating opportunities for students to build hands-on skills. I am also passionate about disability advocacy, working to promote accessibility and inclusion within the veterinary profession. My most recent passion project, founding the Palouse Pet Pantry, has been an incredible success, and I am so grateful for the support it has gained. I came up with the idea of a food pantry for pets when SNAP benefits were cut off, and knowing the increasing statistics of pets being surrendered due to financial hardship, I had to do something. At our launch event, we secured nearly 700 pounds of pet food for 8 species of animals. It has now been converted to a take-what-you-need pantry to further accommodate people's working hours.
