Bio

I desire to become a Alternative Health Consultant within the next 3 years because I’m passionate about helping people by providing natural remedy ideas and a plan for their issues. I plan to launch my business for kids vegan gummies within the next month for kids to have better “gut” health and build their immune systems simultaneously. Lastly, I love to build relationships/connections with other professionals and connect them to people that need assistance with their family issues, finances, careers, etc. Therefore, I would be a great candidate for various scholarships because I am a African American woman that is goal-oriented, a diligent worker, is driven to help others in any way possible, and will utilize the funds I receive in the proper manner.

Do you have kids that don’t like to eat healthy foods a lot (mainly fruits), have recurring stomach issues, and/or are you a busy parent that finds it difficult to keep fresh fruit in your home? This is something that crosses my mind daily due to being that child with recurring stomach issues. Those issues derived from having strep throat a various amount of times throughout the year, which eventually caused me to take antibiotics too often. Over time, my body became resistant to those antibiotics which ended up leading to me having other health issues as I soon became an adolescent. In my early 20s, I decided that I needed to make a change to my diet and began to do more research on it, and then I learned about the many benefits of probiotics and what they do for the human body. This ended up leading me to inform my friends and family about probiotics due to me finally being able to see things shift and start to have better “gut” health from obtaining the good bacteria along with sticking to my new food regimen. In the past, working in the pharmacy and hospital allowed me to see and dispense medications to kids that were prescribed antibiotics for viruses and other illnesses. I dislike when kids are sick because they are not always as strong as adults to deal with the discomfort and pain from their health issues. The majority of the time they are irritable, crying, fussy, and can’t always verbally explain how they feel. is makes it difficult for parents to assess the issue which makes them transport them to the emergency room. Based on my childhood experience, it made me think about my health issues. Therefore, I always tried to ponder on something that I could create to help them. I wanted to create something edible and tasty because it would pique kids’ interest, be beneficial for them, and assist their parents with them simultaneously. As I continued to do more research, I began concocting a probiotic milk-based product made from fresh coconut milk. Then I ran into preservation issues and the matters of some kids being allergic to milk and nuts. Shortly afterward, the impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic prevented me from continuing to build the business for a short period of time. During the break, I had to pivot the business idea and design something more innovative and easier to ship to my potential customers. Then one month before starting the GSU MBA program, I initiated a project that involves something that kids already love to eat, Gummies. This led me to launch Happy Belly Gummies. These gummies are tasty, vegan, contain probiotics for good gut bacteria, and are made out of 100% fruit juice. At this time, they only come in strawberry flavor which contains a SUPER source of vitamin C to serve as an immunity booster. This is very important for kids during their developmental life stage, and the serving size will allow kids to obtain their daily fruit serving as well. Therefore, I hope Happy Belly Gummies can help parents become more interested if not already in their kids' gut health, and to teach them about it. This should prevent some of the recurring issues such as kids having low immune systems, bad gut health, and better moods because our health affects our mood as well.
