My life goals are more than just earning a degree. My goal is to be remembered. Ken Venturi once said, "The greatest gift in life is to be remembered". So when people ask what I want to do with my life, the answer is to be remembered. I want students 100 years from now to learn about me in their schools in universities. But I don't just want to be remembered for my achievements. I want to be remembered for helping others. All my life I've been passionate about helping those who struggle. My mother has always raised me to be aware of those that have not had access to the help I've had. Another one of my lifelong goals is to help underprivileged students achieve their dreams. I know that there are an inordinate amount of students who are extremely determined and skilled but are unable to achieve anything because of the world they were born in. Not even students that we call "smart". I know students who may not do as well in school but are extremely gifted in other areas, but will never be able to attain their dreams because of their grades.
My passions through the years have changed, much like any teen. However, a few things have remained persistent. Since my freshman year, I've been doing photography and attempting to improve m skills as a photographer. Additionally, I've been a member of my school's Academic Decathalon team for all four years of high school, being elected Team Captain my Junior year and again this year.
I've always been dedicated and determined. I motivated myself to do well in school and pushed myself to do better after each mistake.

Over the last two decades, the internet has become interwoven into every aspect of our lives. We communicate, work, and even buy food through the internet. Millions of people use it every single day. I, along with most of my generation, have never lived in a world without the internet. But the internet isn't all positive. We've seen a severe degradation in our interpersonal communication skills.
We now have access to thousands of websites that we can communicate over. These are often targeted toward a particular interest group. One specific example is the app Discord. Discord allows gamers to communicate with others interested in the same games. Yet, it's creating a void in communication skills that is going unfilled. Many teenagers and children are growing up never meeting their best friends beyond messaging in-game or through Discord. We've seen an uptick in "online dating" in youth, putting minors in situations where they are ever more vulnerable. They create fake versions of themselves, thinking over every little thing they say to forge this false persona in such a way that when it comes to real life, they can't do this; they often seem awkward or incapable of communication. These false personas become as clear as glass.
Besides the obvious effect, there's something else being influenced by these websites and apps. They have become a breeding ground for hateful ideologies. Many of the recent hate crimes and shootings were planned on such websites. People share these cruel ideas and plans without ever being put in check. There are no filters, and there are no repercussions.
Additionally, our interactions are becoming shorter and less genuine. Studies have shown that we are no longer communicating on a genuine and deep level.
