One of my closest family friends also flies long-haul international routes for United Airlines and being able to converse with him about his experience has just expanded my passion for aviation. Often, I drive to my home airports of Chicago O'hare and Midway just to watch and take pictures of all the departing and arriving planes which acts as a relaxing retreat away from reality. The fact that one can walk through a door, take a seat for a few hours, and arrive at a new destination is utterly magical and evidently brings light to the world of travel and nature. Airplanes are able to link family members, carry couples to honeymoons and weddings, provide thousands of people with careers, open our eyes to different cultures, and demonstrate innovation and technological advancements. I am fathomed by the diversity of worldwide cultures and pursuing a career in aircraft maintenance allows me to provide others with that exposure to different walks of life. I find myself extremely observant in the world of physics and how the planet provides us with the natural wonders we use for flight and travel.
