Hello, I am a single mom of two fantastic kids. I'm also U.S.Army Vet and now a first responder working for my local county 911 system. I am in search of financial assistance to go to Paramedic school to further my career. My Post 911 and GI bill do not work for Paramedic school where I am. I am trying to obtain scholarships and grants to obtain this goal. I plan to further my education after Paramedic to get my BS in Paramedicine. Thank you for taking the time to read about me.

Fire and EMS Academy Scholarship
I am currently working as an EMT in emergency medical services and serve my community through our county's 911 system. Every day, I have the privilege of helping people during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. This work has strengthened my passion for emergency services and reinforced my commitment to continuing my education so I can advance my career and better serve my community.
My long-term goal is to become a firefighter paramedic. I plan to attend paramedic school and then enter the Fire Academy within the next year. As an EMT, I have seen firsthand the difference that highly trained paramedics and firefighters make during emergencies. Their ability to provide advanced medical care, remain calm under pressure, and serve as leaders during critical situations inspires me to continue growing professionally. I want to develop those skills so I can make an even greater impact on the lives of the people I serve.
Receiving this scholarship would help me overcome one of the biggest obstacles standing between me and my goals: the financial burden of continuing my education. Unlike many traditional college programs, paramedic school is often considered a trade program, and many schools are not accredited for the use of GI Bill or Post-9/11 educational benefits. As a result, I am facing the challenge of paying for my education almost entirely out of pocket.
In addition to being a full-time EMT, I am also a single mother raising two children. Supporting my family on one income requires constant sacrifice and careful financial planning. I work full time and frequently pick up extra shifts to make ends meet. While I am willing to work hard for my future, the cost of paramedic school remains a significant challenge. This scholarship would ease some of that financial pressure and allow me to focus more on my education and training rather than worrying about how I will afford tuition, books, equipment, and other related expenses.
More importantly, this scholarship would be an investment not only in my future but also in the future of the communities I serve. By becoming a paramedic and eventually a firefighter paramedic, I will be able to provide a higher level of emergency care, take on greater responsibilities, and continue serving others with dedication and professionalism. I want to be someone my community can depend on during emergencies and someone my children can look up to as an example of perseverance and service.
I have worked hard to reach this point in my career, and I am committed to continuing my education despite the challenges. This scholarship would provide meaningful support as I pursue my goal of becoming a firefighter paramedic. With this opportunity, I can continue building the skills, knowledge, and experience needed to make a lasting difference in the lives of others while creating a better future for my family.
