University of Louisville
Bachelor's degree program
2020 – 2024
- Biology, General

As an immigrant and first-generation college student, I’ve grown up navigating the paths to higher education. My passion lies at the intersection of science, service, and healing. I’m committed to becoming a physician who not only delivers compassionate care but also contributes meaningfully to research, especially in cancer biology. Over the past few years, I’ve gained hands-on experience in both academic and clinical research. I’ve worked in microbiology and cancer research labs, where I learned techniques like cell culturing, spectrophotometry, and viability assays to study treatment effects on cancer cells. I currently serve as a Clinical Research Assistant at a cancer institute, where I witness the resilience of patients every day. These experiences have shown me the impact of both evidence-based medicine and human empathy. To strengthen my academic foundation and become a more competitive applicant for medical school, I plan to pursue a Master’s in Physiology. This program will allow me to deepen my understanding of the human body, refine my scientific thinking, and prove my commitment to a career in medicine. What sets me apart is not just my work ethic, but my purpose. Everything I do is rooted in the desire to honor where I come from, serve my community, and be a force for healing in people’s lives. Receiving a scholarship would bring me one step closer to this goal, helping me continue my journey without the weight of financial obstacles.
