When I first stepped into a science classroom as a young student still learning English, I felt something shift. Science made sense to me even when words sometimes did not. It gave me a way to understand the world, ask questions, and solve problems. Over time, I realized that science and leadership are powerful forces that shape our future, not only through discovery, but through the people who guide others toward progress. These two areas have shaped my own goals and helped me understand the kind of future I want to build.
Leadership gives direction to knowledge. As President of both the Model United Nations and Debate Club, I learned that leadership is not just about being in charge. It is about encouraging others, creating space for different voices, and guiding people toward a shared purpose. A strong leader asks thoughtful questions, listens with intention, and inspires confidence in others. These skills are essential to scientific advancement, where collaboration, problem-solving, and ethical decision-making drive innovation.
Science, meanwhile, gives leaders the tools to improve the world. It allows us to understand complex challenges like climate change, public health inequalities, and global disease. Science offers solutions, but leadership determines whether those solutions reach the people who need them most. When combined, leadership and science create a pathway for meaningful change. Together, they help societies build healthier communities, more equitable systems, and a future where knowledge is used responsibly and creatively.
As an aspiring doctor, I hope to bring these two forces together. My goal is to provide compassionate medical care while advocating for more accessible and equitable healthcare. I want to use science to heal and leadership to guide communities toward better health and greater opportunity. The future depends on people who can connect scientific understanding with empathy, communication, and moral purpose.
Leadership shows us where to go. Science shows us how to get there. When we bring them together, we create a future driven by innovation, compassion, and progress for everyone.

Growing up, I often felt the weight of challenges that could have held me back. Language barriers and discrimination made it difficult at times to feel fully understood or accepted. Yet, these experiences shaped my resilience and determination, teaching me the value of hard work, empathy, and advocacy. I realized early that I wanted to dedicate my life to helping others overcome similar or bigger obstacles, which has guided both my academic and personal journey.
I am passionate about science, medicine, and leadership. My goal is to become a doctor who serves underserved communities, providing quality healthcare while advocating for equity in access and treatment. Throughout high school, I have worked hard to develop the skills necessary to succeed in this path. Serving as president of both the Model United Nations and Debate Club, I learned to communicate effectively, lead with integrity and honesty above all, and inspire others through my words and actions. These roles taught me that leadership is not just about achieving goals, but about listening, collaborating, and creating opportunities for others to grow and sharing resources with others.
In addition to leadership, I have sought opportunities to engage directly with my community. Volunteering at local clinics allowed me to witness firsthand the barriers many people face in accessing healthcare. These experiences strengthened my commitment to ensuring that medical care is not a privilege, but a right for everyone who finds themselves in need of it. I also plan to mentor students from underrepresented backgrounds, helping them navigate educational and professional paths that may otherwise seem out of reach.
Through my career as a doctor, I aim to make a meaningful impact by combining clinical expertise with advocacy for systemic change. I envision a future where underserved communities have access to quality healthcare, where patients feel heard and empowered, and where education and mentorship create new generations of leaders , opening doors that seemed close or windows that were first out of reach. My personal experiences, academic pursuits, and leadership roles have equipped me with the resilience, creativity, and empathy needed to make this vision a reality.
In conclusion, I am committed to using my education and future career to improve lives, promote equity, and create opportunities for those who face obstacles similar to the ones I have overcome, helping everyone become a better version of themselves. Through medicine, leadership, and advocacy, I hope to leave a lasting positive impact on the world.
Healing Self and Community Scholarship
Mental health has always been deeply personal to me. Growing up, I witnessed friends and family struggle with stress, anxiety, and depression, yet many could not access the support they needed due to cost or lack of resources. These experiences showed me that mental health care is a critical human need, yet it remains inaccessible for too many.
I believe my unique contribution to this challenge lies in combining leadership, creativity, and advocacy to make mental health care affordable and accessible. As president of both the Model United Nations and Debate Club, I have developed skills in organizing initiatives, raising awareness, and creating inclusive spaces where people feel heard. I would use these skills to design programs that connect communities with mental health resources, reduce stigma through education, and advocate for policy changes that expand affordable care options.
Additionally, I am committed to using technology to bridge gaps in care. By supporting teletherapy platforms, online support networks, and culturally sensitive digital resources, I aim to make mental health services reachable for individuals who face geographic, financial, or language barriers.
Ultimately, I want to create a world where mental health support is not a privilege but a universal right. By combining empathy, leadership, and innovation, I can help ensure that anyone who needs support can access it, regardless of background or circumstance. My goal is to make mental health care both human centered and universally available, helping communities thrive emotionally, socially, and academically.
Dream BIG, Rise HIGHER Scholarship
Education has always been my guiding light, providing me with direction and purpose in my life. Growing up, I faced an immense amount of challenges that could have held me back and stopped me form achieving my goals, including language barriers and discrimination. At times, it was difficult to feel fully seen, understood, and fully accepted in school. Yet, these experiences strengthened my determination to succeed and gave me a clear sense of what I want to achieve: to become a doctor who serves and advocates for underserved communities.
Through education, I discovered my passion and love for science, leadership, and problem solving. In high school, I took every opportunity to challenge myself academically while also stepping into leadership roles. After working hard, I became the first Latin American president of several clubs at my school, and that was one of my first milestones in my journey. As president of both the Model United Nations and Debate Club, I learned to communicate effectively, think critically, and inspire others with my words and actions. Leading diverse groups taught me the value of empathy, collaboration, and creating inclusive spaces where everyone feels empowered and safe to contribute. These experiences showed me that education is not just about personal achievement and growth; it is a platform to make an impact, build understanding, and drive positive change in society, helping everyone become a better version of themselves while also opening new doors and opportunities.
The many challenges I have faced have shaped my resilience, determination, and creativity. Navigating language barriers required patience and persistence and most importantly not giving up when things got too overwhelming, while confronting discrimination demanded confidence and self advocacy, which sometimes meant i had to step of my comfort zone, for the sake of myself and others . I refused to let these obstacles define me. Instead, I channeled my energy into academics, community involvement, and leadership roles, embracing the things I love while also lifting others up and helping them feel accepted and comfortable. Each hurdle I overcame reinforced my commitment to helping others overcome their own challenges, particularly those who face inequities similar to mine. I realized that personal success is most meaningful when it also helps others rise and has a bigger impact on society and the community.
My educational journey has fueled my ambition to make a difference in healthcare. I am passionate about becoming a doctor not only to treat patients but also to address systemic inequalities in medical access and care. Volunteering at local clinics and engaging with diverse communities has shown me the critical need for healthcare professionals who listen, understand, and advocate for patients from all backgrounds. Through these experiences, I have learned that medicine is not only about science and treatment; it is about building trust, understanding patients’ unique circumstances, and ensuring that care is equitable and compassionate. My education equips me with the knowledge, skills, and perspective needed to fulfill this role effectively. Also further researching and developing new technologies better equipped to help people more affectively.
Looking to the future, I plan to use my education to create a better life for myself while also making a meaningful impact on others. I hope to mentor students from underrepresented communities, sharing both the guidance and opportunities that education has given me, giving them access to opportunities and sources that might not be accessible to them. I want to advocate for policies that improve healthcare access and support initiatives that empower marginalized groups, not just over the county but as well as over the world population. In every step of my journey, I aim to combine the knowledge I gain with the values of empathy, justice, and resilience that have guided me so far, to further push myself in my mission of helping others. I also aspire to contribute to medical research that addresses health disparities, ensuring that advances in medicine benefit every community, not just the privileged few.
In conclusion, education has shaped my goals, given me direction, and shown me the power of perseverance. By overcoming harsh challenges, I have learned the importance of resilience, creativity, and advocacy and i they have fueled my and pushed me to further try to achieve my goals. I aspire to use my education to become a doctor, serve underserved communities, mentor others, and influence healthcare systems toward greater equality. This scholarship would help me continue my journey, turning the lessons I have learned into tangible action that benefits both myself and the communities I hope to serve and help grow.
Ms Ida Mae’s College Bound Scholarship
From a young age, I have been driven by a deep desire to help others. Growing up, I witnessed how language barriers and discrimination could limit opportunities for people around me. These experiences shaped my academic and professional goals: I want to become a doctor, not only to heal but to advocate for underserved communities and work toward health equity. I believe that education is a powerful tool to break cycles of injustice, and I am determined to use my own learning to make a meaningful difference.
Throughout high school, I have worked tirelessly to develop the skills and resilience necessary to achieve this goal. As president of both the Model United Nations and Debate Club, I have learned to think critically, communicate effectively, and lead with integrity. These roles challenged me to engage with diverse perspectives and resolve conflicts through dialogue and understanding, skills that are essential in medicine and social advocacy alike. Leading these organizations also taught me perseverance, as I navigated logistical challenges, coordinated large teams, and inspired others to achieve collective goals.
My academic interests extend beyond leadership and communication. I am passionate about science and biology, driven by a curiosity to understand the human body and the science behind medicine. I actively seek opportunities to expand my knowledge through coursework, research projects, and volunteering at local clinics. Each experience reinforces my commitment to becoming a doctor who is not only skilled in medicine but also empathetic and culturally aware. I aim to bridge gaps in healthcare access and empower patients from marginalized communities to advocate for their own well-being.
Overcoming challenges has strengthened my dedication to these goals. Facing discrimination and navigating language barriers in school has required resilience and creativity. Rather than letting these obstacles discourage me, I have used them as motivation to excel academically and to support others who face similar struggles. These experiences have shaped my belief in the importance of social justice, equity, and representation, and they fuel my ambition to create meaningful change through my future career.
I see my future in medicine not just as a profession but as a platform for positive social impact. I envision working in underserved communities, providing quality healthcare, and advocating for policies that address systemic inequalities. Beyond clinical practice, I aim to mentor young students from marginalized backgrounds, helping them pursue careers in STEM and medicine. By sharing my experiences and providing guidance, I hope to inspire others to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
Education is the foundation upon which I will build these goals. A college education will allow me to deepen my knowledge, hone my leadership skills, and gain the professional preparation needed to excel in medical school. It will also provide opportunities to engage with diverse communities, participate in research, and develop initiatives that promote social justice and equity. I am committed to using my education not only for personal advancement but to create pathways for others to succeed.
In conclusion, my academic and professional aspirations are rooted in a desire to serve, lead, and advocate. Becoming a doctor is my chosen path to address health disparities, champion social justice, and empower marginalized communities. Through resilience, creativity, and determination, I have cultivated the skills and values necessary to achieve this vision. This scholarship would not only support my educational journey but also enable me to turn my ambitions into tangible impact, improving lives and fostering equality wherever I go.
Craig Family Scholarship
My educational and professional goals are shaped by a deep commitment to helping others and a determination strengthened by the challenges I have faced. As a student who has overcome discrimination and language barriers, I learned early that persistence and resilience are not optional, they are essential. These experiences inspired my long term goal: to become a physician who provides compassionate, culturally informed care to communities that are too often overlooked.
Academically, my immediate goal is to pursue a rigorous undergraduate education with a focus on the sciences, preparing me for medical school. I aspire to study biology or a related field where I can build a strong foundation in research, critical thinking, and problem solving. I am committed to excelling in my coursework while engaging in hands-on learning opportunities such as clinical volunteering, community health programs, and laboratory research. These experiences will help me develop the knowledge and discipline required for a future in medicine.
My leadership roles in school, serving as President of both the Model UN Club and the Debate Club, have reinforced skills that will be essential in my career. In guiding these groups, I learned how to communicate complex ideas clearly, listen to different perspectives, and lead teams through challenges. These experiences taught me that effective leadership in healthcare requires not only expertise, but also empathy, adaptability, and a willingness to understand the diverse needs of individuals and communities.
Professionally, my goal is to become a doctor who advocates for patients who often struggle to be heard. I want to work in environments where language barriers, socioeconomic obstacles, and cultural differences can prevent people from receiving the care they need. My vision is to serve as both a physician and an advocate, someone who not only treats illness but also helps create pathways to equity in healthcare.
This scholarship would bring me closer to these goals by reducing financial barriers and allowing me to focus fully on my education and community involvement. I am committed to using every opportunity it provides to continue growing as a student, a leader, and a future physician dedicated to meaningful service.
