Bio

Hi! My name is Baylee Broom, and I’m from Grand Prairie, TX. I love Jesus, and I love to sing! I’ve been classically trained as a vocalist for seven years, as well as having made the TMEA Texas All-State Choir for all four years of high school! I hope to become a worship leader and songwriter and travel the world spreading the gospel through music! I’m really passionate about music education as well, and love teaching and passing on my musical knowledge. Helping people is what I love to do, especially through music! I’m hoping to attend Belmont University in the fall, where I have already been accepted as a student in the School of Music. I intend to study commercial voice with an emphasis on songwriting, as long as I can get enough scholarship money to pay for it! Being raised by a single mother, we’re a bit tight for college expenses, but I know God will provide!

When I was 9 years old, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. As a little girl, that's a scary thing to face, but music really helped me through it. I remember this one time specifically: it was supposed to be my last day of third grade, but instead I was in a hospital getting medication pumped into my heart. Super fun, right? The doctors had heard that I loved to sing, though, and they asked me to sing my favorite song as I was receiving this medication; so I did, and it actually allowed me to forget the pain of what was going on around me. My singing brought joy not only to myself in a difficult moment, but to the room as a whole. It put smiles on the doctor's faces, and that helped me realize how important music was to me. I realized how much I love bringing people joy and hope, and music has always been my outlet to do that. I’ve been classically trained at my audition-only fine arts school for the last seven years, where my amazing directors have taught me so much about how to be a better musician, as well as a better person through that. From them I've learned not only how to read music and how to sing properly, but also how to work hard and contribute to the organizations that I'm a part of in order to give back to the people who have poured into me. That’s the kind of person I want to be when I grow up, is someone who gives back. Music is what I love, but it’s also the best way for me to serve others as well as serve the One who gave me every gift that I have. My goal is to continue my musical education at Belmont University, where I have already been accepted into the School of Music as a commercial voice major for the fall of 2025. This scholarship would be used to help me get there and continue my education in music, sharpening my craft and helping me get closer to my dreams. I want to be a professional worship leader and songwriter, taking the gospel to the nations and seeing people come to Christ. I believe that the Lord has put an anointing on my voice and on my life to accomplish His purposes for my life, and I believe that God will provide for my education. He will open the doors that need to be opened, and close the doors that need to be closed. I hope this is a door that opens. Thank you for your consideration!

My name is Baylee Broom, and I've been singing for about as long as I could talk! I grew up in a musical family in the Dallas area, and have been exposed to music for as long as I can remember. I feel more myself on a stage than I feel anywhere else in the world, and I love bringing people joy and hope. Music is my outlet to do that. For the last seven years, I have been classically trained at my audition-only 6th through 12th grade fine arts school, called the Grand Prairie Fine Arts Academy. Music has been a huge part of my education, because it has been all around me for all these years. I've grown up singing in the choir here, the show choir, and singing at my local church as well. I've also been afforded the opportunity to audition for the TMEA Texas All-State Choirs, and have made it for all four years of high school! My amazing directors have taught me so much about how to be a better musician, as well as a better person through that. From them I've learned not only how to read music and how to sing properly, but also how to work hard and contribute to the organizations that I'm a part of in order to give back to the people who have poured into me. In the near future, my hope is to study music at the Belmont University School of Music, where I have already been accepted to the commercial voice program, but am waiting on scholarships! Scholarships will be the deciding factor for me for college, because I've been raised by a single mother, and we will need all the help we can get! I hope to get a full ride to wherever I go, and I believe that since God has opened the doors so far, He will be faithful to provide the rest of the way as well. My musical goal overall is to become a worship leader and songwriter, and hopefully get to travel and sing all over the world! I want to take the gospel to the nations through song, and spread the love of Christ wherever I go. I believe music is how I can communicate with people about how much Jesus loves them, and how much I love them. I also believe that the Lord has put an anointing on my voice and on my life in order to help me accomplish His goals for my life, and I hope to bring as many people to Christ as I can while giving them hope through music that uplifts them. Music is everything to me, and it has influenced every aspect of my life. I believe that music is a universal language that connects people around the world to each other, whether or not they understand each other's backgrounds. Music has brought me so many of the relationships that I value most in my life so far, and for that I am so grateful. Music is my way to not only express myself and my faith, but to give back to the people who have poured into me.

I believe music is how I can communicate with people about how much Jesus loves them, and how much I love them. Music gives people a commonality that can foster relationships, hope, love, and all the other good things in life. Music does not judge, nor does it discriminate. Humanity could learn a lot from music itself, actually, and that is why I love it so much.
