Bio
I am a student at Ball State pursuing a Masters degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, or ABA. I have worked with kids of all ages for many years and want to continue to help improve the quality of life for children and their families. My dream is to open up my own ABA center for children with that will be similar to a summer camp setting, this will promote a healthy lifestyle and also teach the kids with disabilities a lot about the outdoors by utilizing natural environment teaching.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my pets and my husband. I love the outdoors, reading, music, and fitness. I also love to travel to new places in my free time.

Bold Goals Scholarship
Imagine not being able to communicate how the world around you communicates, or not being able to control or handle your emotions the way others do. That is what people with autism live with every day. I have worked with kids with autism for a few years and am pursuing a degree to continue to help them and help their families live a better life. When I started working with kids with autism I was scared, but as time passed I fell in love with it and the kids there changed my life. This my dream is to graduate with my masters in applied behavior analysis to obtain my BCBA then over time I want to open my own summer camp for kids with autism. I was a camp counselor and I wish I could go back and time and have the proper training, the few kids at the camp that had disabilities such as autism I found annoying and trouble makers who I did not want to deal with, and that was awful of me to think at the time, but I didn’t know what autism was. Now I am thankful I have the knowledge I have about autism and the experience that I want them to be able to feel safe and loved and have fun at a summer camp designed for them to learn skills tailored to them for their needs. This will give them the space to run around, play outside all summer, and learn all kinds of skills that would benefit their lives in a camp setting.
Bold Generosity Matters Scholarship
Generosity overall means being kind to one another and also treat others how you want to be treated. Do not put others down, speak bad about others behind their back, and also teach the youth about generosity and kindness. Being kind to one another goes a long way, we never know what the person sitting next to us is going through so be the one to make the change and loan someone a pencil, money, etc. you never know what a stranger is going through. In the world we live in a lot of people can be selfish and cruel, those people only care about themselves. We do not want that, you want to spread joy to others and care for others how you want to be cared for and take time out of your day to help anyone that needs help. It is important to be generous / considerate of others and their feelings. Even if the person next to you is not being a generous person, you as an individual who is and can be the better person will still and always will have generosity. Kindness matters and we always need someone with a kind heart in this world to make a difference on those that are not as kind.
