My life goal if everything were to work out perfectly is to own a mobile pasta store. Similar to a food truck but instead of me making food to order I would package my homemade pasta and sell it at various locations such as farmers markets. Since I was a little girl making pasta has been a passion of mine and I would often joke about getting a PHD in pasta and since that isn't an option yet I found the next best thing culinary school. My family has been a huge factor in getting where I am today as my grandpa was the one to show me how to make pasta, my mother graduated from culinary trade school when I was 10 and helped me cultivate that love, and my father and grandmothers supported me throughout it all no matter what happened.

My name is Bailey Flores I am 20 years old and currently entering my junior year at Johnson and Wales University in Providence Rhode Island. I am majoring in Food and beverage entrepreneurship which is 2 years of culinary training combined with 2 years of business. Although I attend school in Rhode Island I was born and raised my whole life in California and leaving for University has deepened that love by an inexplicable amount. A lot of the times when I'm feeling homesick food is a major part of my memories of my home and my family. Similarly to Rudy Mazzetti family is extremely important to me and a value I hold near and dear to my heart. My family and I have always sat down for dinner and eaten together which plays a huge role in how I view dinner as well as food. My whole childhood I was told by numerous people breakfast was the most important meal but I always felt it was dinner due to the emotion and connection surrounding the food during dinnertime.
The love of food my family shares and many lifetime experiences regarding food have led me to where I am today. At the age of 9, my grandfather taught me how to make pasta and I haven't stopped in over 10 years. I found making pasta to be calming and relaxing as well as joyful when the final product is finished. Another experience that happened when I was 9 was my mother beginning culinary school and from then I have been exposed to so much in the culinary world and have no plan to stop. My dream goal after graduation is to own a mobilized pasta store to bring high-quality pasta made with the best ingredients to any and everyone. Not only do I plan to attend local farmers markets but also drive to low-income neighborhoods or food deserts and sell affordable delicious homemade pasta. I have personal experience with not being able to afford the best foods as my family has had to rely on food stamps to purchase our groceries. I want everyone to be able to buy healthy pasta without having to break the bank so they can be worry-free about any harm their food could be causing.
My passion for pasta which was ignited by my family at age 9 has taken me on an unforgettable journey so far and I am excited to see it take me to my goal. Every day I seek to bring the joy and peace pasta has brought me to at least one person as it has been an important part of my life I love to share. I think by starting my mobile pasta store I could share this with so many people experiencing any of the curves or celebrations that life throws at them and bring the connection and emotion food produces.
