Bio

I aspire to become both a skilled chef and baker to own my own business, such as a cafe, that holds wonders such as books, cozy drinks and meals, and maybe even... magic. I want people to come into a cafe full of curiosities that may peak their own, not forcing them to believe it but to choose to learn of it with amazing drinks and food.

What inspires me to bake is the way food can bring comfort, happiness, and connection to people. Food is something that everyone can relate to, regardless of their background, culture, or experiences. From a young age, I noticed that sharing a warm meal or a sweet treat could brighten someone's day and bring people together. Whether it is celebrating a special occasion, comforting someone during a difficult time, or simply spending time with family and friends, food often plays an important role. Because of this, I see baking as more than just making desserts; it’s a way of showing care and kindness to others. Baking also allows me to express my creativity. While recipes provide a simple base, there are many opportunities to personalize and improve them. I enjoy experimenting with flavors, decorations, and presentation to make each dessert unique. The process of turning simple ingredients into something beautiful and delicious feels almost magical. Every finished product represents time, effort, and attention to detail, which makes the experience even more rewarding… even if the first attempts were a bit odd. Seeing people smile after trying something I made or laugh at my first visual efforts motivates me to continue learning and improving my skills. My favorite things to bake are macarons and cheesecake brownies. These desserts hold a special place in my heart because they helped me win over my now-boyfriend, but, most importantly, they also helped a friend feel seen and appreciated during a difficult time in their life. Those experiences showed me how meaningful food can be and how something as simple as a homemade dessert can have a positive impact on someone's day. Macarons and cheesecake brownies allow me to showcase my simplistic creativity while also challenging me to be patient and precise. Macarons, in particular, require careful measurements, proper technique, and attention to detail. Even small mistakes can affect the final result, which has taught me the importance of patience and perseverance. Cheesecake brownies may seem simpler, but they also require balance and care to achieve the perfect texture and flavor. Through baking these desserts, I have learned that success often comes from dedication and practice. I enjoy the challenge because it pushes me to become better with every batch I make. Looking toward the future, I hope to become highly skilled in both baking and cooking… Mostly baking. I want to continue developing my abilities, learning new techniques, and expanding my knowledge in culinary arts. My ultimate goal is to open my own café where I can serve warm drinks, delicious baked goods, and comforting meals in a welcoming environment. I envision a place where people from all backgrounds can gather, relax, and feel cared for. I want my café to be known not only for its food but also for the sense of community and comfort it provides. Through baking, I hope to turn my passion into a lifelong career. More importantly, I hope to continue sharing the happiness, comfort, and connection that food has always brought into my life. Baking has taught me valuable lessons in creativity, patience, and caring for others, and I look forward to applying them to make a positive impact on the people around me.

There are many things that one could consider as magic, whether it be witchcraft or your typical card trick, for me, food is that magic. No matter where you come from, food is there, although some do not have the privilege of having it everyday, it is still a need that is almost like a healing spell that is accompanied by comfort and strength. From a young age, when everything was pure magic and curiosity, I found that a warm meal or sweet treat with gorgeous decor would make people happy, calmer, and united. Later on in life, I've reflected on those memories to choose what I truly want to pursue in life as a career and more, leading me to the culinary arts. Since I decided that I wanted to pursue a culinary education in my freshman year of high school, I've viewed food and drinks as more than sustenance; it is a base of simple but genuine care, a representation of creativity, and a gift as well. For some, food is also an apology with no words, even to a simply cut apple, the gesture in itself shows effort and love to the receiver. Through a formal culinary education, I want to achieve a greater grasp on basic techniques, food safety, and professional kitchen skills in order to transform my passion into a purpose. Attending culinary school will give me the discipline and experience needed to grow into the confident chef and baker I aspire to be who can consistently create quality food. Simply, my goal is to become both skilled as a chef and baker, but truly, it is more. Simply choosing one over the other is not enough, as greedy or vain as it may sound, being able to be an almost expert in what is savory but also what is sweet, is extremely valuable to me. Personally, baking is what I am most drawn to since sweets are a staple in cafés, a business of which I would like to have my own of one day. The skill of a baker is what would help me express my creativity but also show the patience and precision that goes into the delicacies that can be made from baking done by my hands. At the same time, cooking allows me to be more loose and have fun but also experiment with flavors, combine or explore cultures, and mess around with presentation. Ultimately, the big picture of why I decided to pursue an education in the culinary arts is to have my own business, specifically a café. What I envision is a cozy place with a welcoming view, although I want for it to reflect myself by containing books, curiosities, spiritual items, and dark but welcoming hues all tied together with warm drinks, tasty treats, and comforting meals. I want it to be a place that invites all, no matter the background, and if needed, nothing at all. The café of my dreams is to be caring after all, a safe place, although to not be taken advantage of. To leave off, I am pursing an education in the culinary arts because food has the most magical spell of healing, comfort, and connection. By refining my skills, I hope to make food into my lifelong craft that brings a most special magic into this world.
