Ruebenna Greenfield Flack Scholarship
Aloha!
My name is AyrieAnna Emayo. I was blessed to have been born of Native Hawaiian descent and raised on my beautiful home island Kaua'i. I take much pride in being a Native Hawaiian. I love the people, and the language, the music, the food, however; what I love the most about my culture is how my culture encourages sharing aloha, the Hawaiian word for love, with anyone you may come upon. Sharing aloha to me means to treat others with kindness and empathy. One way that I share aloha is through my passion for music. Many songs nowadays contain lyrics about inappropriate subjects, when I get the chance to share my music with others I do so by playing songs with positive messages. For example, the songs "One Love" by Bob Marley and "One Day" by Matisyahu preach messages of loving one another so I frequently play these songs. Being raised in Hawai'i I have been given the blessing of being raised surrounded by aloha. I plan to positively impact the world through aloha.
My career plan is to become an audio engineer. By being an audio engineer I will learn the skills to properly record and produce music. Once I have achieved this, I am going to positively impact the world by helping being shared aloha through their music. Living in Hawai'i, my people have a unique music style that I believe needs to be shared with the world. In recent years, more Native Hawaiian artists have incorporated Olelo Hawai'i or Hawaiian lyrics and chants in their music. As a Native Hawaiian, I have a strong desire to help more Native Hawaiians like myself share our music with others in hopes that it can bring aloha to their lives.
Aside from helping Native Hawaiians, I want to provide help for the youth and the next generation of musicians. So many amazing musicians with aunts of aloha have helped me to become the musician and person that I am today. It is my dream to be able to do the same one day. I believe that we need to keep our unique traditions alive and that the best way to do it is making sure that they carry on to the people after us. I also believe that music can be beneficial in everyone's lives, whether old or young.
Thank you for taking the time to review my application!
Mental Health Importance Scholarship
Why do I find importance in maintaining my mental health? I have learned through experiences in my life that taking care of one's mental health can have many benefits. I have also found that not caring for your mental health will have its repercussions. I believe that it is important to care for your mental health to ensure that your mind is working at its best capability.
Not caring for your mental health can result in problems like stress and restlessness that can lead to even more problems for you down the road. Aside from the physical pains of these problems, being overly stressed out and restless will result in a decreased attention span as well as you producing lesser quality work at slower speeds. Not caring for your mental health may also cause you to be stuck in depression. Depression is not an easy disorder to manage, however; caring for your mental health over time can help to reduce the feeling of depression. I believe that it is important to care for your mental health in order to ensure that you can live a happy and productive lifestyle.
I maintain my mental wellness by staying consistent with good habits. For example, taking a few minutes every day to sit down and listen to music without distractions. I have found that doing this has helped me to feel more relaxed and focused. A second example is keeping a habit of taking care of your personal hygiene daily. Taking care of your personal hygiene can help to improve your confidence and help you to feel accomplished. Aside from listening to music and taking care of my personal hygiene, I maintain my mental wellness by getting enough sleep. I have noticed serve declines in my mental wellness when I do not get a sufficient amount of sleep. Without the proper amount of sleep, I become easily irritated and restless. In order to maintain my mental wellness I try to achieve at least eight hours of sleep each night. By taking time out of my day to care for my mental wellness I have increased productivity in my life. I have also found ways to relieve stress and increase my focus throughout the day. Overall, I find great importance in mental health. I have found that staying consistent with good habits can help to maintain mental wellness in your life. I know that this is important in order to live a happy life.
Corrick Family First-Gen Scholarship
My future career aspirations are to first become an audio engineer and secondly be the founder of my own production label. The reason I am choosing to pursue this career is so that I can chase my dreams of following my career in music as well as spending my time on earth hopefully making a difference. By starting my own production label, I will be able to help local artists have a place to record their music and get it out to the world. I believe that once I am able to accomplish this more women in my community will be encouraged to start making music of their own.
Growing up, I was surrounded by music and talented musicians. As a child, I watched my family on both my mother's and father's side partake in beautiful "jam seshs'" . There would be no rules to this art, everyone, family members of all ages would gather around in a large circle with their instruments and begin to play songs everyone knew by heart. It was such a beautiful thing to witness, seeing my loved ones doing something that we all loved together. Even at a young age moments like these touched my little heart. Another part of my childhood that contributed to my desire to become an audio engineer was listening constantly. Every time I got into a car with my parents as a child I was destined to have the delight of listening to my island's (Kauai) local radio stations. I loved hearing local people sing songs about local things. As a child, being able to relate to the local people's music on the radio deeply inspired me to chase my goal to one day have my music on the local radio for my community to enjoy as well. listening to the radio and the amazingly talented local music they played has increased my desire to chase my dream and pursue a career as an audio engineer. Another moment in my past that contributed to my desire to become an audio engineer was my first experience professionally recording my vocals in a studio. I was lucky enough to earn the chance to make a free demo thanks to amazing people in my community. This amazing experience changed inspired me to chase my dream to pressure a career in audio engineering and provide the same opportunity to others in the future. I believe that it was moments like this that fueled my desire to become an audio engineer.
Book Lovers Scholarship
Have you ever read "The Laws of Human Nature" by Robert Greene?
This book explains 18 laws of human nature. These laws apply to everyone either rich or poor.
These "laws" are basically explanations for 18 behaviors that we all exhibit as humans. For example, the first law, "The Law of Irrationality" teaches that as humans we make choices based on our emotions rather than our logic. An additional law is "The law of conformity" What this law explains is that it is in our human nature to want to be accepted by others.
I would want everyone in this world to read this book because it is very universal. The topics that these books go over apply to people of every sexuality, race, and religion and are a way that people of different backgrounds can connect. The following reason why I would want everyone in the world to read this book is to create more empathetic people in the world. When you read this book and gain an understanding of why people may behave in ways that bother you it helps to see their side of things and see the real reasons behind the issue. Correspondingly, I would want people to read this book in imparticular because I have found it to improve my life and my way of thinking. Learning the reasonings behind the things that you choose can help you to make better choices for yourself in the future. Overall, I choose "The Laws of Human Nature" by Robert Greene for the world to read because I believe this book can help people to be more empathetic and make better choices in their lives.

Eras Tour Farewell Fan Scholarship
Taylor Swift's music during the Eras Tour has helped me to understand smiling back at the past rather than being upset that it's gone. Listening to her older songs like "Love Story" and "Fifteen" brings me a nostalgic feeling. Going through my first ever heartbreak, I would listen to these songs in my room and "bawl my eyes out". Now I listen back at these songs and laugh at how young and dumb I was. This song shows me that if I can get through that heartbreak I can get through anything. It also shows me to be thankful more for all the experiences that I have had in my life.
Taylor Swift's music throughout her Eras Tour helped me to discover that some things about ourselves never change. Watching videos of Taylor performing during the Eras Tour let me listen to her past songs that grew up loving. I remember being a fourth grader and creating silly little dances to Taylor's song "Blank Space" with my cousins. To this day whenever we hear that song we try to remember the chorogyphy that we made for it. It shows that even though many things have changed in our lives throughout the years, we have remained goofy fun-loving family.
Being a musician I personally had a great appreciation for the concept the Eras Tour. I love the idea of never forgetting where you came from and staying true to your roots. Dispite Taylors incredible fame that she has gained over the years she has has never forgotten her humble beginnings. As a musicians this gives me large amount of respect for Taylor. I believe that it is important to remember where you began since you would not be where you are now without it. In addition to this, I have gained even more respect for Taylor learning that during her Eras Tour she made very generous donations donations to foodbanks along her route. This goes to show that regardless of the immense fame that she has gained she is still is humble enough to share her fortune with others suffering from food inseruitys.
Taylor swift's music during the Eras Tour has helped me to understand the importance of being humble and always remember where you came from.
You can always find some Taylor Swift "oldies" in my playlist. During her recent Eras Tour her music has impacted my life in many ways. The nostillagic feeling and the memories that her songs on this tour brings me feelings of joy and helps me to remeber to stay true to who I am. I find great importance in this concept and have found inspiration from Taylor Swift's music during the Eras Tour.
