I am a senior in high school and I want to go further in life than what is expected of me. My dream is to be a radiologist but first I want to be a rad-tech. To do that i need to go to school for a couple more years but I do not have the money for it and do not want to b drowning in student debt after I get what I want. I think I would be an ideal candidate because I am striving to be as great as I can.

The medical field has interested me for a long time, even from a young age. I’ve always been curious about doctors and other medical professionals because of the role they have in people’s lives. Seeing how they improve people’s health has inspired me to consider a career in health services. I’ve always liked the idea of making a positive difference in other people’s lives, so I think a career in healthcare fits my interests and personality.
One of the main reasons I want to pursue a career in a medical profession is because I have seen the impact healthcare providers can have on people. Whether they are diagnosing patients, treating them, or simply offering support, they alleviate patients of worries. Their dedication to ensuring patients receive the best care is what has inspired me.
Another reason I want to work in the medical field is because I have seen how healthcare providers treat their patients. They make sure patients’ health and well-being come first and try to meet their needs. When I broke my arm in the third grade, I was scared and in pain, but the EMTs who came helped calm me down and got me into the ambulance. I remember the EMT talking to me about random things, anything to distract me. I was crying, but he kept trying to make me laugh, and somehow it worked just enough to calm me down. That’s something that really stuck with me. The memory of someone going out of their way to make me happy in such a stressful situation. When I got to the hospital, the doctor also made sure I was comfortable. That experience showed me that medicine is not only about treatment, but also about helping people feel less afraid during difficult moments.
I also became interested in radiologic technology during my X-ray experience after breaking my arm. I was fascinated by how the image could show the exact structure of my bones without any surgery. It made me realize how important imaging is in helping doctors make accurate decisions. The technologist who performed the X-ray was calm and reassuring, which made the experience much easier. That combination of advanced technology and patient care is what drew me to radiology rather than nursing or another medical field. In this role, I would work with imaging equipment, help patients stay comfortable, and ensure they understand each step of the procedure.
In conclusion, my interest in healthcare and my desire to make the lives of others better have led me to want a career in the medical field. By becoming a radiologic technician, I hope to make a difference by helping patients feel comfortable and by providing clear and accurate imaging. I look forward to working in healthcare and contributing to the well-being of others.

STEM has changed the way I think about my future and the path I want to take in life. It has influenced many of my decisions and continues to motivate me toward my goal of becoming a radiologic technician. STEM has allowed me to discover my passion for subjects such as math, science, and technology. This has fueled my desire to pursue a career in healthcare.
Science has always been one of my favorite subjects in school and one of my biggest academic strengths. I truly enjoy learning about anatomy and the biological processes involved in healthcare. This is also one of the main reasons why I have set my career goal as becoming a radiologic technician. This career suits my interests in science by combining scientific knowledge with my passion for healthcare and the medical field in general. Science is one of my greatest passions in life and has opened many doors for me.
Mathematics is another part of STEM that I am passionate about. I have always enjoyed math and challenging myself to solve different problems in school. It was once my favorite subject because of how it encourages critical thinking. It allows you to train your brain to work as efficiently as possible, especially in school, where you are often expected to complete tasks quickly while still understanding how they work. This is something I truly enjoy. Math also plays a major role in many STEM careers, including that of a radiologic technician. I would need to accurately calculate things such as radiation doses to ensure that patients receive safe and appropriate amounts during imaging procedures. My appreciation for math has given me a desire to learn and has strengthened my interest in pursuing a STEM related career.
Technology is another area that has had a major impact on my educational and personal development. I was born in a time when technology is so widely accessible that I have grown up with it. Using different types of technology has allowed me to learn new skills and become more technologically proficient. I am confident in my ability to use technology later in life when working with medical imaging equipment. The opportunity to help others through the use of technology is another reason why I want to pursue a career in radiology and STEM.
In conclusion, I am very passionate about a STEM education because of how it has shaped my interests, goals, and plans for the future. My love of science, math, and technology has driven me to choose a career as a radiologic technician. A STEM education will provide me with the skills and knowledge necessary to make an impact in the medical imaging field.
