I am the first in my family to attend college. My mother and father were both immense drug addicts and alcoholics, leaving me nothing. While I was very young, especially from the ages of 4 to 7, I was also raising my younger sister on my own. After being adopted I was given a chance to attend a proper school for the first time and even a career tech center.
Thanks to my time at the Miami Valley career tech center, I have developed my passion and am working on attending a tech based major. My LAB at the MVCTC is called “Drones & GIS Technologies”.
We don’t just fly drones, but we also do hands-on maintenance and eventually get our part 107 license, allowing us to fly commercially. GIS stands for geospatial information systems, and we use arc GIS online and the pro version to develop mapping and 3-D modeling renders.
I have had a 4.0 throughout my entire high school career and have missed a total of less than five days in all of that time. Throughout high school I did marching band for four years and became a section leader as well as a prop manager. In addition to the 40 hours a week I put in for school. I also work an average of 30 hours.
I plan to either develop a business using drones or join the Air Force. I would be eternally grateful if I was given this scholarship.
Thank you for reading this.
