I’m a graduating senior and valedictorian of Kailua High School, preparing to attend the University of Hawai‘i Mānoa as a mechanical engineering major and NROTC midshipman. My ultimate goal is to serve as a Naval Aviator, combining my love of aviation, leadership, and technical problem-solving in service to my country. Raised by a single mother who worked tirelessly to support me and my two brothers, I’ve learned the value of hard work, resilience, and gratitude. Her strength and sacrifices have inspired me to pursue every opportunity with purpose and determination. I’m passionate about learning how things work—from machines to systems to the science of flight. Whether through books, hands-on learning, or real-world applications, I’m driven by curiosity and a desire to understand and improve the world around me. Mechanical engineering gives me the path to turn that passion into impact. What sets me apart is not only my academic and leadership achievements, but the mindset I’ve developed through adversity. I know what it means to work for something, to support others, and to lead with integrity. I’m committed to using my education and training to serve with excellence and purpose.
