Is the automotive career path for me? I have asked myself this question many times, and the short answer is yes. Many factors led me to the path of an automotive technician and I believe that I have the sufficient skills and mindset to be working in this field of work. I also have the drive to do the work, whether it's the good or the bad, hard work no one else will do to get the job done. Growing up I was surrounded by the automotive world in my youth. When I was a child my father was an automotive technician and all of my uncles either had experience in the automotive industry or were big car guys. So from an early age, my mind was already on the path of an automotive technician and as I began to grow up I started to think about being an automotive technician myself but I was not sure as I was still young. When I was 12 my father passed away during the night that event had me go through many hard times but when I started high school the topic of my career path came up and now more than ever I wanted to be an automotive technician not necessarily follow in my father’s footsteps but to honor his life and pursue something I wanted to do. Throughout my life, I haven't been one to give up easily on tasks. I also have never been one to fold easily either in life. I have faced many hardships that have made me a stronger person, leading to me pushing through the hard work that others aren't willing to do and completing what needs to be done. I also am a very good worker with my hands. I am inquisitive about taking things apart and putting them back together to figure out how they work and what makes them work. I have also shown to be a quick Learner as I have been told by many teachers throughout my school years, this fact has allowed me to excel in my classes and learn more complex stuff at an earlier age. So yes I believe that the automotive industry is the perfect fit for me and I am very excited to get to work in the industry. That is the reason I applied for this scholarship so I can receive help on my path to becoming a successful Automotive Technician.

I am a senior in high school taking classes for a career in the automotive field and after school, I plan on going to college to further my chance of getting a good position in the automotive field. My father was an automotive technician when I was a child and I did not have a whole lot of interest in the field I only liked cool-looking cars but when I was twelve my father passed away from a heart attack. Back then I wasn't thinking much about my future but when I got older. As the future got closer I began to think about what I could do with my life and I thought back to what my father did. I realized I like working with my hands so I decided to give the automotive field a try. I loved it, it was the best decision I ever made, and now I come here to apply for this scholarship for a chance to pursue my dream of being an automotive technician.
