    Your Health Journey Scholarship
Three things that I have changed in my lifestyle to be healthier by eating healthier, drinking more water, and getting physical activity or exercise. I, first, started to change when I did a running exercise class from Bethel University because the class talked about the importance of at least having 30mins to 1 hour of physical activity throughout the day or week. Therefore, I made a major life change by going to the gym 3-4 times a week to promote a healthier lifestyle. I can see a huge shift in my daily life because I am not so tired anymore & I am more active. I am more willing to do more things and be more productive or positive. With this being said, I have changed my habit of eating and drinking decisions because I noticed that I have been eating very unhealthily or drinking a lot of sugar like Coke. I felt like changing the way I eat, and drink has changed me a whole lot for the better because after I eat a clean or nice home meal, I feel so much better than eating a burger from Mcdonald's. Instead of drinking so many sodas or pop, I drink more water or electrolyte water to help regulate my body more because most of our body is made of water. These changes have changed my lifestyle into a healthier lifestyle because as a student it can be hard to get the proper food, exercise, or drink due to the amount of homework we must do while working or doing internships. As a student there isn’t a lot of time, but there is enough time to be able to study and keep our lifestyle healthier because with one change like going on a walk is something that we all need to get away from our stressful assignments. In addition, it helps circulate blood throughout our body and promote better thinking as well.
    Mental Health Importance Scholarship
I believe that Mental Health is important because it affects our daily life and having good mental health is what everyone strives for to handle stress or make healthy choices. I had a hard time this semester because I was working part-time in three different sites as a resident assistant at a Nursing Home, Personal Care Assistant through Kare Health, and study work at my university. It was taking a toll on me because I am doing an internship during my week but having to find the time to do homework, exams, and projects, and get in my hours. My mental health during this time while working multiple jobs, internships, and going to school was too much to the point where I decided to quit one of my part-time jobs to have more time to finish school. I handle my mental health or stress in so many ways through doing a spa day or having the time to watch a favorite show I enjoy. I believe one important thing that kept me going is to renew my faith by going to church every Sunday and having most of my weekends free to catch up with friends and family. I feel like being able to talk to someone and having a spa day is what relieves my stress and helps my mental health to become better. Although I enjoy working at a nursing home, I am unable to fulfill the number of work hours that are needed because I need to be able to work having two other part-time rt time jobs, internship, and assignments are too much to handle. In addition, I want to be a Nurse and become a Community Health Educator because I feel like a lot of my Hmong people need to e under mental health awareness. In Asian culture, there's a lot of pressure that is put on children because parents want them to succeed but educating parents and students about mental health can help them more than damage them.
